In addition, the University of Pittsburgh has fantastic resources especially for Pre-Health related careers. With the UPMC building nearby, you can obtain your medical hours right on campus! You can easily contact a faculty member within the Pre-Health department to discuss the best academic path for you. The campus holds a variety of recreational spots including restaurants, museums, and cafes to study at. However, in the future, I hope to see the university improve their communication with their students regarding Panther Central. Sophomore: West Chester University is a place that feels welcoming and encouraging. Not only do I feel happy on campus, but I am kindly encouraged to pursue education and knowledge, for the sake of finding a good career. WCU is prideful in their campus; living facilities, classrooms, professors, and their student’s accomplishments. Of my time at West Chester thus far, I am the most happy about the social environment. Students are friendly and encouraging to their peers to get involved. Not to mention, professors are personable, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. Although housing conflicts are a hot topic around campus, the traditional dorm living spaces themselves are just what a student needs. Maintenance issues are solved timely after a request, and RAs and Hall directors make the time living there very worth while. The dining services and food options throughout campus is plentiful. Senior: I LOVE Temple University! Most of my professors have been nice, fair, knowledgeable and even passionate about what they teach. Temple has a gym on campus, which offers group fitness classes including yoga, cycling, and meditation, included in tuition fees. The healthcare I received on campus has always been stellar. The Disability Resource Services offered have been stellar, and the 24-hour TECH Center is a pleasure to spend days in while studying and working on projects. Temple has an app now where you can request a chaperoned walk home in person or virtually, as well as a nightly shuttle that circulates around the edges of campus for those in off-campus housing. Our Marching Band was one of my favorite extra curriculars offering an annual stipend when you join and you get to perform synchronized dances to pop songs at home games on Philly Eagles turf at the LINC. Junior: I am a junior in Duquesne's nursing program and I cannot say enough good things about this school, at least academic wise. Professors know your name and genuinely want to see you succeed. Classwork is challenging but always helps me learn. Clinicals start early and help you feel confident in your skills by the time you enter your immersion. The campus is beautiful and in an excellent location that has allowed me to work a part-time job since my freshman year even without a car on campus. The food leaves a lot to be desired, which I why I mostly cook for myself now, as do the freshman dorms, but if you can get into Brottier or St. Martin's as an upperclassman, you're set. There are plenty of clubs and organizations on campus that have allowed me to meet friend and even serve in leadership roles. Sophomore: Although I have only completed my first year of college at University of the Sciences, it was one of the best years of my life. Not only am I surrounded by fellow peers and classmates who have the same love and respect for education, but every staff member I have created a connection with work very hard to help us succeed in our courses! Sophomore: I’ve been going to CCAC for 3 semesters now to pursue an associates degree in psychology and Education and it’s been great so far! I really feel like the professors at CCAC are here to teach you something and they will help you to get through all of your struggles. The professors I had always have been understanding of any problems that came up and they were very approachable. I’m glad to have chosen this college as an affordable start before transferring to a 4 year institution. CCAC also offers a variety of clubs and activities that’s are fun to explore. Junior: PennWest Edinboro has an absolutely amazing graphic design program. The professors are kind and knowledgeable and are truly dedicated to helping you grow as a graphic designer. I transferred here in the Fall of 2022, and so far my experience with my professors has been great. However, the administration at Edinboro leaves a lot to be desired. As a transfer student I was hoping to have some resources given to me to make my transition easier. This was not the case. No one from the transfer department has reached out to help me. This is especially frustrating, as I did not have a smooth move from community college to Edinboro. I am still struggling to sort out credit issues! The only helpful person thus far in administration has been the chair of the art department. The PennWest merger has also brought challenges to Edinboro that have not been adequately addressed. Senior: Reflecting on my college career, the enthusiasm and dedication of the staff sticks out to me. When picking a college, I knew I wanted a small, tight knit community that would allow me to grow.
