Junior: I mostly thoroughly have enjoyed my time at Florida A&M University. The school offers a plethora of opportunities and displays a wide variety of education paths. FAMU is very inclusive and is filled with innumerable opportunities to gain real world experience in order to better prepare their students for their futures. Personally, as a business administration scholar, I am rewarded the opportunity to converse with some of the most profound leaders of some of the world's most successful corporations such as Wells Fargo, Capital One, Boehringer Ingelheim, and many more at our Weekly Forum meetings. This is one of my favorite perks, as it allows the students to gain first hand knowledge. Consequently, I believe that the school could improve on its overall service to students & parents. Freshman: I'm currently a freshman at Miami Dade College (MDC), and let me tell you, it's been an incredible experience so far! The variety of programs and courses at MDC is pretty amazing. they have options for just about everything. Whether you're into arts and humanities, business, health sciences, or technology, MDC has got you covered. MDC has several campuses spread across Miami-Dade County, which is really convenient. Freshman: I love the support from my advisors to teachers. They are knowledgeable and available to assist you or give you the pep talk to help keep you on track. I could never find a better school to get a degree at, I am a proud Puma! The other classmates are also amazing. Courses are 5 weeks long and sometimes it is packed full of reading and learning. Some of the classes are easier than others but you can probably find that at any college. The challenge at UMA is these are 5-week courses, you have to keep up. The advisors are great for resources when you are struggling to keep up, when you start to fall behind because you are sick with pneumonia, or if you have questions or concerns about your courses.... Freshman: I think Broward College gets a bad rep of being an old, stinky community college. The truth is, it is very modern and up-to-date with the best resources to help and aid their students with their specific career pathways! I wish however, that they would change their image so it is more aesthetically pleasing to people who hear about this college! Sophomore: One of the first things that drew me to TCC was its size. The classes are smaller, averaging around 30 students. It's much more personal than a university and it's made finding a community and accessing help much easier for me. My development of relationships with my professors has also gotten much better. They actually have time to meet with and counsel me instead of being swamped with 100 students a class. It's amazing. A few things I would like to see change include the upkeep of the campus. It's a bit dated. It almost feels like a time capsule back into the 90s which might be nice for some. However, they have started some excellent renovations in one of the student halls next to the bookstore which is promising. It would also be nice if the Financial and Cashiers offices showed more hospitality and kindness to their students. Attitudes there can often be bland and unconcerned. Junior: Ultimate Medical Academy is the best decision I ever made! If I had to do it all over again, I definitely would. It was a great experience from beginning to end and everyone I encountered was so friendly and eager to help. They checked in on me often and made sure I was ok and did not need any help with school or anything personal. They made it very easy to want to keep going. Their encouraging words kept me motivated to do the best I could on all of my studies. Without UMA I would not be where I am today about to graduate with my Associates degree. Sophomore: Great affordable school! I started dual enrollment classes in 2018 when I was a sophomore in high school. By the time I graduated high school, I had earned half of my AA degree. That huge jumpstart allowed me to complete my degree at 19. Although registration and other resources can sometimes be a bit of a mess, the courses and many of the professors are great. I’ve done classes in-person at the Mueller campus, and then most of my recent classes were done completely online due to the pandemic. Works Here: Atlantic Technical College is the best school that students can ever dream off. Freshman: Sheridan technical is a great school. Most of my friends have studied there and told me that the teachings at the school is very impressive. Sophomore: Florida Gateway College is a great school! There are so many activities and options open for a student. There are always events going on and the professor comes to the activities, even when they start during your class time. The professors are great teachers, in the short amount of time you get with them, you get to them know them and they get to know you. There is associability between the library, student center, and student success center. You can study, do homework, find tutors, and even make new friends! Florida Gateway is a wonderful public college that I have enjoyed, the advisors are so friendly and helpful. I recommend FGC to all my friends looking for a great college to go to, I know the big named schools like UF and FSU are places that everyone wants to go but FGC is an amazing environment and their options for classes and degrees are wonderful as well. Senior: It's a wildly diverse school, both for high school and college students. While school hours overlap for the two groups, college and hs students rarely interact, and it's encouraged we don't interact at all. There's good financial support and many classes to aid those with sensory disabilities and a few ESOL classes too. You can tell the teachers really care about their students. No athletic department or dorms, since it's simply a technical college. They prepare you for a job straight out of schooling, though, and there are apartments and houses all over the area. The food is FANTASTIC, the culinary program makes all of the food fresh every day, and they hire experienced people to help with said food.
