Senior: First and foremost, this institution ensures that students have all the resources and support necessary to excel throughout coursework. Next, I like that you have to REALLY know the material. Cheating and skating by is virtually impossible. WGU graduates know their (soon-to-be our) stuff. Professors are always so easily accessible and are so passionate about whatever subjects they are teaching. Like they do this for real! Freshman: The community is small and inclusive, there are always events going on and ways to be included to meet new people! I’ve been living in the dorms and it has been a great experience. The food is very good for the most part and after scholarships (which most everyone gets) I have found it affordable with a simple job! Amazing classes here. All the teachers know you personally by the end of the class and are very kind when you are struggling. It feels like I’m at home here plus you get a scholarship for just being some programs like the art or music program. You also get a scholarship for returning each year. I’m hoping to finish my bachelors in 3 years since most my high school credits transfered. The best part is you are right in the middle of sugar house with a part right across the street and everything within minutes from you. Junior: Brigham Young University has an outstanding uplifting atmosphere that I love! The professors are caring and understanding, and overall amazing at helping students reach their academic goals. The campus itself is gorgeous--making time in between classes a delight. One of my favorite things about BYU is their first year student mentoring experience. Each and every freshman is assigned to a mentor that they meet with throughout their first couple semesters. The mentors are also students so it is very nice to have some sense of camaraderie. What I also love about BYU is that everyone is friendly. Whenever I needed help a kind soul was there with a smile. Senior: Best decision that I could have made for myself. If you're hesitant, please don't be. Do it, you won't regret registering especially if you are having a hard time getting accepted into a community college in California. Professors are the greatest! They want you to succeed. They go above and beyond to make sure that you understand the content. That you not only understand the content but that you grasp and retain it as well. Clinical rotation sites are a place to really use your critical thinking skills that you've learned in theory. The instructors will test your knowledge and make sure you understand what you're there for. They will test you on your assessments, they will give you scenarios to work through at the end of every shift. You will have to demonstrate your knowledge. Freshman: I am currently enrolled into Provo College. the enrollment process was so easy and had multiple people checking up on me and also giving me great information and steps the complete it. This made me want to stick with this program and also excited to start with them. They have lots of good information and clear to start the program. I took the entrance exam twice and failed and then they put me in a class to help me pass it my third time. I did! everyone through the program made it super easy and exiting to just get enrolled into the program. they are very helpful and have all the answers to your questions. Even calling in there was also someone that would pick up and answer those questions and if they weren't able to answer your question they would find someone who would. They make it feel like you arnt just another person trying to get into the program or client to them they make you feel important and worth their time. Junior: Overall I have had a great experience at Southern Utah University. The vast connection SUU has to outdoor locations such as national parks and other outdoor features has made many aspects of my schooling enjoyable. I have been able to take classes that take advantage of living in such a cool location. I have studied geography, astronomy, and outdoor recreation in many nearby national parks! The smaller class size has made learning easier. I feel like this is a contributing factor for having so many professors who truly care about the students and helping them learn the concept. Alum: Great school overall. Some amazing professors. Lots a scholarship opportunities and seriously one of the best Presidents you can have at a university. It does feel more like a commuter school. You don’t quite get the big university feel which can be a pro or a con for an individual. I was a transfer student and did enjoy my previous university more. At UVU I did appreciate the hybrid model I was able to utilize because life happens and sometimes you need to go to school online. I would highly recommend this university for their programs but also if you want to get you generals out of the way. It was a great stepping stone university for those also wanting to start here with because of the open enrollment then transfer else where. My only complaint is that there wasn’t a lot of school spirit and not a lot of major activities like dances or parties compared to what other public institutions in the state had. Freshman: Right now I'm studying through the Automotive Program that SLCCtech provides. First of all, the amount I was charged with is way cheaper than I imagined plus it lasts for 9 months!? I'm really glad I went through SLCC first, rather than starting off at UVU or Weber, because it will definitely save me a lot of money! Second, SLCC has so many opportunities and resources to let their students succeed and thrive! You just have to look in the right places, I guess haha. Or of course,you can ask your advisor about them! My current professor has mentioned there was a scholarship that will help pay for rent and if SLCC could get any cooler, it just did. I feel like there's only one "bad thing" about SLCC which is, I wish they had dorms. It'd be so much nicer for people who live so far away from their campuses.
