Senior: TCU has an incredibly inclusive and supportive community. The professors genuinely care about their students and want their students to succeed. Many have their PhD, with years of real-world industry experience. They are great resources as mentors both in an outside the classroom. The school spirit of TCU is unlike any other school. Students are incredibly proud to be horned frogs and hold lots of school pride. This year, students have been calling TCU an "everything school" because of our success in academics and across all sports. TCU has a great campus, with state-of-the-art buildings and facilities. The dorms are well-equipped and updated, and the recreation center is a great facility. The dining hall food in the BLUU isn't great, but there's plenty of dining options on campus (a healthy smoothie bar, chick-fil-a, Peet's, flatbreads, etc.) and others on University Avenue. Junior: I love the fact that this University is very culturally diverse. There are a lot of international students. So you can always find somewhere you feel like you belong. However, it's not very politically diverse. Most of the campus is liberal. I like that this University offers a multitude of different majors. I don't like the fact that because of this, some colleges underneath this university aren't very good. The Math program is not the best. The on-campus cafeterias are very awful. I have gotten raw chicken and pork there numerous occasions. I have had very kind and understanding teachers who make it clear how you can succeed in their classes. This is a very large commuter school and I don't like how expensive parking passes are or the limited parking options. Overall, if you're interested in engineering or business or nursing, this is a really good school for you. Sophomore: The teachers here great until you’re given the ones who were previously on probation for low test scores. They want to be great but make their class ridiculously hard and their lessons and lectures are usually irrelevant to the tests. I’d say that the overall vibes at Baylor are amazing. I’ve never felt so welcome in a community before I came here. I love the food but it depends on your likes whether the dining halls are worth it or not. Very slowly but surely the dorms are being fixed, thankfully. Junior: Texas Woman's University is an amazing school. I am a nursing student at the Houston campus. I have learned so much in my short time attending. I have only spent a semester at TWU and I absolutely love it. The professors are very knowledgeable and they are really good at teaching and making lectures engaging. The professors have been nice, understanding, and very professional. Although the content they teach can be difficult, they deliver it in a way that is easy to understand. They really let you know their expectations from the beginning and it sets you up for success in their classes. Even after our first exam, some of the students that struggled with the first exam had one on one meetings with our professors to see what areas the student needed help with. Sophomore: I love West Texas A&M University. The community around the school is very supportive and helpful. I mostly take classes through the department of agricultural and natural sciences. The professors are fantastic. They may not always make the courses easy, but there are enough resources to excel. I've just finished my first year at WTAMU and I greatly look forward to the next few years. Sophomore: This school is excellent! The engineering department was recently ABET accredited, and the class sizes are fantastic (approximately 20-3 students depending on the level). I transferred from a much larger public institution, and I prefer this school much more; the engineering professors know you by name and care about you and your career goals. Junior: What I like about Southwestern Adventist University is that it is a close-knit university filled with diversity and love. Sophomore: UIW is an excellent choice for anybody looking for small classes and a small campus. There are many resources and opportunities for every student on campus. The advisors and professors all help you work towards a collective goal. My first year there was spent in the Starbucks or the library in between classes, but they have a lot of restaurants around the block. Overall I have loved my time there; the only thing I wish could change the food choices on the campus. It was really hard to find a good breakfast or lunch that wasn't chick fil a or Starbucks. Alum: I have only the best memories as a student at the University of Houston Clearlake (UHCL). I started at the UHCL with zest and enthusiasm for learning. I loved the small class size setting, as it allowed for more personal instruction. I felt like the professors viewed me as a person, and not a number.
