Freshman: My first semester at Chaminade University of Honolulu has been a positive one! I have learned so much more than when I was attending a local community college. I loved how easy it was to use the online platform. Finding assignments and the organization of the assignments was easy to follow and navigate. Teacher feedback was helpful, and I was given lots of guidance. The one thing that I wish would change was the cost. It is a very costly school, and I am not sure I can continue attending because I just can't afford it. Although the amount per credit hour is less than attending full-time in person, it is still very costly. I would like to see that 3 credits cost $585 and not 1 credit costs $585. Freshman: The University of Hawaii at Hilo was a great place where I was able to find my passion as a historian. The faculty is amazing. They were all very helpful while I tried different avenues of educational fields and were supportive. The University of Hawaii at Hilo is a small campus, that gives it the ability to be very hands on with a small student to teacher radio. Freshman: Aloha, My name is Ashlyn Grace Balanay and I am currently an undergraduate student at Hawaii Pacific University (HPU). First off, HPU is a beautiful and gorgeous place that is right next to the water. Including the Aloha Tower that always have beautiful lights that turn on at night. In addition, there are plenty of restaurants, food markets, and a grocery market. Most importantly, the fun part is that we have an esports arena; where you can play games to distress and have some fun. We have a lot of seating areas for you study and socialize with friends; and if sitting outside isn’t for you, you can walk into the learning commons or library for to study. You can always make reservations for yourself or a group of friends you want to study with. Here at HPU we have small classes that help you socialize with teachers and classmates, it’s much better for one on one conversations and meeting a new friend. Freshman: Kapiolani is different than your regular community college because they're focused more on you as a student. I really liked it because they offer tutoring resources during set times at the library. In addition to that, their goal is to ultimately have you transfer over to a 4-year university, in order to do that they lay out an academic plan for you as you choose your classes with your goal in mind so that you can make the optimal decision for your future. The campus is clean, safe and offers a gorgeous view of the ocean. The professors are great and are willing to have personal time in order to help you. The only thing that I would recommend changing is the way you register for classes as sometimes the website can be a headache, it has bugged out on me a few times saying that I had a hold on my account which resulted me in having to call support multiple times. Niche User: Hello!, i have never been in school at Hawaii Community College but with my experiences of visiting this college i think it has a great learning environment and also a very clean community. I have cousins and my two siblings have had experiences on campus and in classes. I ave asked my sister which is enrolled in HCC how her experience is at this college, she says " i enjoy it it has great education, great vibes around, great people, and a great gym area" so with the words from my sister i am planning on commiting to Hawaii Community College. Sophomore: Honestly, the only thing I would change about Kauai Community College is the lack of extra curricular activities and their sparing access to a viable gym. Truth be told I came in during the pandemic so I really can't gauge it fairly until things open up as usual. That aside, the best part about being at this college is the authenticity and helpfulness of the instructors. Being a student that has attended a number of colleges in the Mainland.
