Freshman: Wichita State University is a great start for someone who is looking for a college and lives around the Wichita area. I grew up in Wichita and have always had a hard time fitting in. But at Wichita State University, I feel like there are many places where I could connect with others who share similar interests. I plan to finish my degree with Wichita State University and look for more opportunities that are made easily accessible by the university. However, my problem with WSU is the surrounding area and it does not have many sports. WSU feels limited in the freedom of students because Wichita surrounds it. This makes it harder to experience "college life", especially when I have grown up here. Also, I know there are complications with sports here, but I believe that we can bring back an amazing football and basketball team that can compete in college sports leagues. Senior: As a transfer student to Bethel College, I was shocked to experience such a culture of support and community that I was greeted with upon my arrival on campus. The positivity and school pride that engulfs the atmosphere at any campus event whether its an athletic event, musical, or even convocation every Monday is unmatched. I made the right decision by going to Bethel College, because it feels great to be surrounded by staff and other students that value you as a person and want to see you succeed. Sophomore: My first year at Butler was amazing! I met two of my bestest friends on only the first day of school! The teachers are also great. My public speaking class, which I was nervous for, turned out to be my favorite class of my whole first year! My biology professor made everything easy to understand and related the topics to our lives so we would better understand. I was also lucky enough to have the same teacher for two different classes which was really helpful since I already knew how she ran everything. The environment is small yet welcoming which makes it very easy to talk to people even as an introvert. I have also attended multiple sporting events which had high energy throughout the whole game! Alum: I cannot speak highly enough about WSU Tech. I met all my favorite teachers there in the Information Technology program. Great opportunities for students including those in high school. You can start college programs through WSU Tech as early as your Sophomore year in high school. I started my Sophomore year and graduated from the IT program my Senior year. WSU Tech offers amazing classes and programs in Aviation, Healthcare, Construction, Manufacturing, Information Technology, and everything in between across its two campuses.
