Sophomore: Florida Southern is a great school if you are looking for meaningful relationships amongst your professors, beautiful scenery when you need to take your mind off of school, fun activities, and all around welcoming people. Although the food is hot and miss, Florida Southern makes up for it by having numerous dining options. However, I would love to see FSC incorporate even more options including vegetarian/vegan meals instead of just the 1-2 options on the Caf menu. Also, it is outdated. Sophomore: I have had such an amazing experience at this school. I am so happy that I applied here and made my decision to attend this university. Academic life here is very manageable and it’s great because of the small class sizes. There are no student teachers as all Proffesor’s are accredited individuals. I have been able to form great relationships with Proffesor’s. Overall there are so many social and academic opportunities offered here that can advance someone in the future. Sophomore: The faculty are very kind and there are plenty of things to do at the college, events that take place, and clubs to join. For instance, there is free tutoring available at all times at the library which really helps me when I'm struggling with math! Also there was an event a few days ago where you are able to donate blood so that was super neat! I got a $25 dollar gift card from it! There was also a credit union company which was allowing free sign ups and offering help to students who need help with finances. They have a program/club called Women on the Way which is free to sign up and you get benefits like free clothing and scholarship opportunities. Junior: Ultimate Medical Academy is the best decision I ever made! If I had to do it all over again, I definitely would. It was a great experience from beginning to end and everyone I encountered was so friendly and eager to help. They checked in on me often and made sure I was ok and did not need any help with school or anything personal. They made it very easy to want to keep going. Their encouraging words kept me motivated to do the best I could on all of my studies. Without UMA I would not be where I am today about to graduate with my Associates degree. After graduation I will be attending a UMA sister school, Purdue Global University, to obtain my bachelor's degree. I may even decide to go farther in the long run. Alum: I attended Florida College for 2.5 years. This is an excellent academic institution. The professors, staff, and students all strive for community and helping one another grow academically, professionally, and spiritually. Located in Temple Terrace, Florida College is eight minutes away from Busch Gardens, a half hour from the beach, twenty minutes away from downtown Tampa, and an hour and a half away from Disney. There are so many outdoor activities available to do in the area, and students (and the SBGA) are constantly planning events on-campus and off. There is no shortage of opportunities for social fun. After FC, I attended University of South Florida, which was a great experience, but I did not make the hundreds of lasting connections and friendships that I still have thanks to FC. Additionally, if you need networking or shadowing opportunities, FC advisors and professors will facilitate professional connections both locally and nationally. It is a county college with very knowledgeable and patient teachers, there is also an IV lab to practice how to make IVs.
