Freshman: I am an early admittance student slated to begin my journey as a college freshman during my senior year of high school at UCF starting in August of 2023. My experience has been incredibly positive so far beginning with my initial tour of the campus, through the application and acceptance process and lastly checking off my "to do" checklist in order to be ready for orientation. Every campus employee that I have encountered has been welcoming, encouraging and informative which has alleviated much of the pressure of being a first time college student! Freshman: Everything at Herzing is clearly designed to help you succeed. The staff, from the security guard to admissions to financial aid and beyond, are all super helpful and nice. Even when I made a mistake, they were right there with me trying to figure out how it could be fixed. They truly care. Herzing also has various programs to assist students which is amazing. They help with getting your first job after graduation, including resume and interview assistance. They have a place where you can get mental health services so you don't get too burned out from your coursework. It's just amazing compared to other campuses I've seen. The Orlando campus is rather small compared to some of the other colleges nearby (UCF, Full Sail and Valencia), only one building with several stories high. But I think it's better that way. Freshman: Take a deep breath don't be nervous, take a moment to observe your surroundings. These were my first thoughts when stepping into Valencia College to begin my first semester in the spring. As someone who graduated early during the midst of the pandemic, I felt like I would be immediately outcasted academically. While I was a straight A’s student in high school with a severe lack of teachers, I began to wonder if I was truly ready to attend college full-time at the age of 16. Freshman: I absolutely adore Lake-Sumter State College. It is about twenty minutes from where I live and convenient. Not to mention the campus is beautiful. However, community college is only for some. It is not entirely the college experience you would get at a university: no dorms and roommates, no food services, and not nearly as many people. I personally don't think it is a big deal, and I enjoy having smaller classes with fewer people where I can get more one-on-one help. There are so many tutors available at all times, and anyone and everyone are willing to help you there. Junior: I started at AdventHealth university in 2019 and got accepted into their nursing program in fall of 2020. Overall this school is amazing. However it is extremely competitive. This school has made me grow my spirituality, self discipline, Professionalism and academics. The professors go above and beyond to help their students succeed. They provide free counseling for every student. There students health and mental health is at their top priority along with their students safety. Their student housing is amazing. There is a gate that is locked at all time and the only way in is with a key fob. The apartments are two bedroom apartment with one full bath. There is a laundry room right down stairs. There is a student lounge where a gym and game room are located. This school is not a party school there extremely strict on rules. Graduate Student: Orlando Tech is a technical college that cuts right to the chase for all students aiming to get their degree. Students range from high school students that arrive there as dual enrollments to middle age adults getting their education. Great thing about Orlando Tech is that it has a welcoming atmosphere and does not discriminate to handicapped students.
