Freshman: I started attending Florida International University this summer and I absolutely love it. This is the only University that attracted me in Florida. The diversity in this school is truly incredible, there’s so many people from different backgrounds and it’s nice to get to know them. The people there also feel very welcoming and inclusive, and that’s what I really look for in a school. It lets make me gain more knowledge and become less ignorant of others. Freshman: I'm currently a Freshman in St. Thomas University and so far I can say I didn't make a mistake by picking this college. There's always fun activities for students to do around campus and plenty of clubs to join to be involved in the school and meet new people. Going into college I was always scared because people would tell me school food was not the best, but thats not the case in STU the dinning hall always has various of food for everyone's liking and if you do not want to eat in the dining hall there's other the places you could eat on campus. I like STU because campus is not big and you can get to your destination by walking and the max it'll take is 10 minutes. All the staff member are willing to help when needed and there's public safety always on duty making sure campus is safe. STU is a catholic school but it doesn't force it on you, their understanding of other individuals belief. There's different options for housing and maintenance is always there when needed help.... Sophomore: I have had such a great time at FAU for the past year. Both Boca and Jupiter are such wonderful places to be in; the areas are relatively safe, bustling with life, and help me develop people skills and get out in the world. The facilities are top tier and the staff really care about my path in life. I have met future bridesmaids, fell in love with academia, and felt so free yet supported in college. All my classes have been really great and very helpful for my career goal. Graduate Student: The professors were excellent! I had many that engaged with their students, always ensuring the class was on everyone's level while also going at a pace where everyone understood the assignment. The professors also weren't pushy and didn't pile up work on students, they understood we had lives to tend to and made it manageable to work with. The school and faculty themselves also were elementary and forward going, if you had a question it would be answered, and if we had opinions about something they never went unheard. The campus itself was very safe, I never had any issues of being scared to walk from the building to my car, and I made friends very quickly and connected well too. Senior: It's a wildly diverse school, both for high school and college students. While school hours overlap for the two groups, college and hs students rarely interact, and it's encouraged we don't interact at all. There's good financial support and many classes to aid those with sensory disabilities and a few ESOL classes too. You can tell the teachers really care about their students. No athletic department or dorms, since it's simply a technical college. They prepare you for a job straight out of schooling, though, and there are apartments and houses all over the area. The food is FANTASTIC, the culinary program makes all of the food fresh every day, and they hire experienced people to help with said food.
