Sophomore: I transfered to Siena during my freshman year. The staff and professors could not have made my transition more seamless and easy. The campus is small, but it's perfect for those who wish to go to a small school. It's a Catholic school, but you wouldn't guess that by the student body. If you're looking for smaller classes for more attention from professors, Siena is exactly that. Loudonville is a small and cute little town with great food options and lots of shopping. Freshman: I'm an incoming Freshman at Hudson Valley Community College, starting later this month. I visited the school out of curiosity for their new Welding Technologies associate degree program. I found the campus and all the services offered to be great. The Welding lab, including the Virtual Welding equipment was excellent and well set up. By the end of my visit, I knew that I wanted to attend this school and I applied immediately. I will be able to really increase my welding skills and be better prepared for my career. The college made the application and registration process very easy, with most things taken care of online or by email. This helped tremendously since I have a full-time job and wasn't able to visit or call the school during my workday. Once I start my classes I'll change my working hours to part time so that I can both focus on my studies and take part in some of the campus activities. I am very excited to begin!... Sophomore: Mildred-Elley is a great school. This is my third time enrolled in college and I've been more successful then I could possibly imagine. This school has presesnted great opprtunity's for me and allowed me to maintain a 3.9 Gpa with 2 toddlers at home. I would have to say the only downfall is the selection of degrees and ceterficates you can achieve. More classes areas of study should be offered and it could thrive even more as an institution!... Graduate Student: I attended Ellis School of Nursing from 2019-2022. I found the program excellent in preparing me for my nursing career. The program is clinical heavy, which I loved as it gave me ample time to become comfortable on a nursing unit, and learn the flow of real life nursing practice. All clinical hours are done at Ellis Medicine as this school is owned by the hospital. The nursing staff were exceptional at making us students feel part of the team, and teaching us what they know. Course work at Ellis is arranged differently than most nursing school curriculums as their focal point is understanding umbrella topics in order to get a more comprehensive understanding of what each disease process does in the body. There are one or two courses each semester, instead of breaking it up into individual topics like nutrition or pharm, they incorporate those aspects per every disease/health issue taught.
