Senior: My experience at Oklahoma City University has been a great one so far! I am a transfer student majoring in Business. When one of my advisors from community college mentioned an institution that offered a great amount of scholarships to business majors, I knew Oklahoma City University was a great fit for me financially. Not only does OCU provide scholarships, but there is a strong connection among the students and professors. The classes are smaller and there is more involvement in discussions. OCU takes in consideration of developing future leaders in our community and in the industry we attend to. I am thankful to attend to a great institution. Sophomore: Oral Roberts University is not just any ordinary university. This university is led by Holy Spirit-empowered individuals who take their time to provide the necessities for college students to succeed in their studies. Sophomore: Although the University of Tulsa is known for being expensive, they are very generous with scholarships (I myself have managed to pay for the full cost of attendance with their help). The small class sizes are a great way to connect with both classmates and professors, and the relatively small campus size makes it easy to get to closely-scheduled classes. Plus, it's a lot easier to enroll in classes when there are fewer people competing for a spot. As for looks, the campus is beautiful -- it's got a lot of gorgeous flora and excellent sights. I feel like the ambience of the university is a huge factor of why I love attending. There are dozens of resources on campus for pretty much everything, from tutoring to career planning. The academic advisors do a great job making sure students are taking the classes they need to graduate and are interested in. Junior: Southern Nazarene University is a small campus that puts community, commitment, and Christ at the center of its values. No matter a student's athletic status, academic goals, or level of involvement on campus, authoritative figures intentionally pursue each one with the intent of getting them connected with other staff and peers around campus. Professors know each student by name and set aside office time to ensure they are on the track to success. Placing Christ at the center of the school's being allows students to belong to something greater than themselves. Junior: Boomer Sooner! I recently transferred to OU and have loved every single moment. The University of Oklahoma has such a large and diverse population that you cannot fail to find your place here. There are so many colleges, courses, and professors to choose from. There are entire departments dedicated to ensuring the well-being of all students, all you have to do is ask around. There are more than 100 student organizations on campus, cultural, academic, sport-oriented, and religious organizations for students to choose from, and if you feel any of the existing organizations does not cater for your needs, you are allowed to make your own. There is academic advising, peer tutoring, group tutoring sessions, a library database with more than enough information, and office hours provided by professors and teaching assistants among other services to ensure that students are supported to produce the best results at school. Alum: My experience at OBU was fantastic! It takes time and effort, but you can find a good, supportive group of people there. The students also come with a variety of backgrounds and unique interests. I liked that I could walk to all of my classes. The teachers I had were supportive and personal. The gym had everything you would need. There were plenty of activities to get involved in as well. The environment was very relaxed. My only critique would be the food. Over time (perhaps new management) grilled chicken and other items like it seemed to become more rare or took more effort to get. The food quality didn’t seem quite as good as it used to be and the veal and other good dishes were only available when they had a day where potential future students were visiting. Sophomore: I love EOSC. There is a welcoming atmosphere at this college. All of the professors are amazing! They really help each student by giving their time and attention to every individuals needs. I really like how they hold students accountable for their responsibilities in the same manner understand if any life events effect their ability to perform. The advisors really take their time to get to know you and your future plans to help guide you on your way to success. They can show you different organizations to get involved with that may help you on your journey. I strongly recommend their clubs. I was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, which is an international honor society. I was the president of Business club and the Secretary of student government. In many aspects, Southwestern Christian University's size enables a highly controlled, interactive environment. While engaging in various community events, attending chapel, playing sports, or going to class, you won't run across an unfamiliar face. A supportive network is readily available in this context, which fosters a sense of accountability, acknowledgment, and safety.
