Sophomore: Yale has been a fun and enjoyable experience overall. I would definitely choose Yale again if I had to re-do my college application. Academics: some departments are better taught than other departments. Yale can be weaker in CS and Math compared to other universities, but most alums are still very successful. Like most colleges, there is a lot of independent learning and there are numerous resources to help you. The environment is not competitive unless premed. Social life: Yale has an AMAZING social life compared to other universities of equal caliber. There is always something going on and you can be as social as you want. Social life is nonexistent during midterm season. There are parties, frats, concerts, woads, club formals, and many other events. Sophomore: Having just finished my first year at Wesleyan I can definitely see why this place is so highly rated. By far my favorite thing about this place are the people I've met from professors to students to alumni. I just think this place attracts a type of person who is passionate and interesting and I think that's why I'm in college in the first place. For Brown Rejects: The university is expensive, and as you pay a flat rate and cannot switch classes around easily the experience can feel claustrophobic or rather limiting if you're among the MOST driven students; but O! to be in the middle 50 here; you will stumble into incredible classes with awesome professors and interesting students who will keep you engaged in the material and the work is manageable, club scene is a blast, music is great, alright nightlife, and great senior housing.... Freshman: Its a good campus and the staff is very welcoming! I enjoy my experience here, so far. Including the transitioning because I am a freshman and going into a new environment not knowing anyone was difficult for me to deal with. The campus is not to far from where I live and I am able to go to school, work, and enjoy my experience while being at the school. I can't wait to further my education at UConn Hartford. Junior: Asnuntuck Community College is a great tight knit community college that has a warm, family like atmosphere! Junior: This school can be a stepping stone to greater opportunities. I personally choose UConn for past affiliation I had back in high school where I enrolled for dual enrollment. I wouldn’t take back any recent college challenges because UConn has been nothing but graceful in my situation. Definitely give it a chance and see how you blossom in this environment! I do speak from experience of only commuting to their regional campuses so I’m not keen of their not being much opportunities for sports, however, your education achievements can be achieved regardless.... Other: The campus is easy to get to, and the staff has been helpful with transcripts and transfer credits to apply to the nursing program. The clinical sites I have attended and the Clinical Instructors have all been helpful and attentive. The only downside would be the book expense. Alum: I was an undergrad at Central as computer science major, got my BS in 2019. I had a great experience, both academically and socially. I had an internship right after graduation, but pandemic hit and did not get full-time. I got another job elsewhere as web programmer, working remote. I wanted to get a grad degree, so I enrolled in fall of 2021 in the Data Science master's program. I just graduated in May of 2023, and finished all my credits in July. I am writing this review because I just got a job in Boston, and wanted to show a success story and share my experiences at Central. I am grateful to Central, as I had amazing experiences, got my BS in computer science and MS in data science. The best value for my education. I felt like I owed it to Central to write this review. I was not the best student in high school or freshmen year at Central, but I got serious, worked hard and got my degrees. It has paid off, and I owe much less than my friends. Sophomore: Tunxis is truly full of amazing staff! The professors are attentive, caring, and always looking to help boost students up. They are also very understanding when it comes to needing extra help or extra resources. The advisors are very helpful and provide resources that save students money and time. The school itself is clean and well maintained with an abundance of clubs and organizations that provide resources for mental health, such as the human services club. The students are welcoming and it was easy to make friends and breach out of my social comfort zone. The school has many parking spots available, and two main entrances that make it easier so you don't have to walk 15 minutes to your class if you're running late. The classes are well-paced so that they do not become overwhelming, even as a full-time student I still have plenty of free time and time to work a part-time job as well. Sophomore: Naugatuck Valley Community College is a beautiful place to start after high school. Not only is the college free, but there are many opportunities for students to gain profit such as the STEM scholarship. As a STEM member, I can say that my experience was famaminal. Not only did this scholarship prepare me for the incoming college classes, but they have also helped me pick out my classes individually. These classes were specifically chosen for the student so that they may graduate as quickly as possible. The professors at Naugatuck Valley are fantastic as well. They are well educated and formal. They make college life much easier than it seems and more enjoyable. The campus is well structured, containing many programs that offer help, financially or educational, for the students. As an example, the ACE center helps students who are struggling with certain subjects within their classes. Each staff member is well trained and every subject is covered within the ACE center. Senior: My courses were conducted both in person and online this past semester.
