Junior: University of Wyoming offers an incredibly valuable education for low tuition costs! The engineering programs are especially great (I'm a chemical engineering major) and small class sizes make it really easy to connect with your professors, and it's really easy to get involved in undergraduate research if you're interested in that (I emailed a professor I had never even met in person and got into his research lab that way!).
The university's response to covid was a bit messy (though that can be said of almost any organization in 2020). However, they did a good job of balancing offering quality, in-person instruction (particularly for labs) with keeping the student body safe. Financially, they didn't use the pandemic to overcharge their students like some universities did, in fact it was so much cheaper that I was able to buy myself a car with the money I saved during the 2020-21 school year.
Overall this is a great school, my only real caution is to prepare for some harsh winters!... Read 2,007 reviews
