Junior: Brigham Young University has an outstanding uplifting atmosphere that I love! The professors are caring and understanding, and overall amazing at helping students reach their academic goals. The campus itself is gorgeous--making time in between classes a delight. One of my favorite things about BYU is their first year student mentoring experience. Each and every freshman is assigned to a mentor that they meet with throughout their first couple semesters. The mentors are also students so it is very nice to have some sense of camaraderie. What I also love about BYU is that everyone is friendly. Whenever I needed help a kind soul was there with a smile. Prayers before classes start and the devotionals each week really invite the spirit which only enhances my learning. Freshman: I am currently enrolled into Provo College. the enrollment process was so easy and had multiple people checking up on me and also giving me great information and steps the complete it. This made me want to stick with this program and also excited to start with them. They have lots of good information and clear to start the program. I took the entrance exam twice and failed and then they put me in a class to help me pass it my third time. I did! everyone through the program made it super easy and exiting to just get enrolled into the program. they are very helpful and have all the answers to your questions. Even calling in there was also someone that would pick up and answer those questions and if they weren't able to answer your question they would find someone who would. They make it feel like you arnt just another person trying to get into the program or client to them they make you feel important and worth their time. Freshman: UVU was a great school! The scheduling websites are easy to use and intuitive, the teachers have all been upfront about expectations and plenty willing to work with me when I have issues, and there are always plenty of events going on to come and meet other students! The library is a lovely place to work, but every building has random desks and couches scattered around so I can study wherever I want. They keep a constant online presence and do their best to foster a sense of community. Students have discounted tickets to amazing shows put on by other students, too. The building is full of windows so you always feel alive and it's hard to lose track of time. They all connect, as well - it's one, giant, clever building, that masquerades as twenty-three separate buildings. There are "secret tunnels" that are really just hallways and staircases, since the campus is built into a mountain. Advisors are easy to access and genuinely helpful, too! Alum: I loved my time at Dixie State. I loved the class sizes, and I loved all my professors, as they really seemed to care about me and my education. I absolutely loved the student life. Student associations do a ton to host events for the students, and that was the best part. Dances were always great and something to look forward to in the year. Housing is well-priced and inclusive. I met most of my friends just from student life in the dorm, and I loved the dorm environment. Athletic games were always fun as well! One thing I would say is that they have a lot of focus on STEM managers but disregard the humanities. Our building was outdated, with only three classrooms. STEM majors had their own buildings with multiple floors. The name change didn't make us feel any more included. I would ask that they work on equally supporting all majors and not just focusing the money and resources on STEM. Freshman: Right now I'm studying through the Automotive Program that SLCCtech provides. First of all, the amount I was charged with is way cheaper than I imagined plus it lasts for 9 months!? I'm really glad I went through SLCC first, rather than starting off at UVU or Weber, because it will definitely save me a lot of money! Second, SLCC has so many opportunities and resources to let their students succeed and thrive! You just have to look in the right places, I guess haha. Or of course,you can ask your advisor about them! My current professor has mentioned there was a scholarship that will help pay for rent and if SLCC could get any cooler, it just did. I feel like there's only one "bad thing" about SLCC which is, I wish they had dorms. It'd be so much nicer for people who live so far away from their campuses. Anyways, all good reviews for SLCC from me, I like it so much here that I honestly want to go to SLCC for other classes just for fun. Even if it doesn't pertain to my career/degree.... Graduate Student: The Medical Billing and Coding program was a thorough course of actual practical skills. I really thought that the course has prepared me for job placement. Some of the course work, Like ICD 9, I found redundant. They have,however managed to updated the curriculum since then.
