Freshman: Just started there but looking forward to my program! I recently applied to the Occupational Therapy Assistant program for the Fall 2022 semester. I live very close to the university and like that it's a quick but rigorous 2 year program. The campus is roughly 10 minutes from my apartment which makes for an easy commute. The career path for how long the schooling is has a great return value. The career choice is a work-field that specializes in helping people that are lacking motor skills or recovering from and injury to learn or regain the abilities to perform activities of daily living. Ever since I was young I have always enjoyed coaching/ mentoring and enjoy giving directions and guiding. I feel this kind of occupation is very rewarding because I'll feel like I am having a direct / immediate impact on someones life. Freshman: I am currently a freshman and I must admit that the Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences, though expensive, it's very calm. Graduate Student: I went to Great Lakes institute of technology and graduated from two different programs! The first program I went through and graduated was for the Medical Assistant program. The program was very educational and set at a good pace to learn the skills needed to be a Medical Assistant. My instructors were super helpful and took their time with each student. I graduated April 2019 and went back July 2019 for the Practical Nursing program! The program was alot more fast paced but a challenge I was willing to accept! during my clinical portion of the nursing program the Covid-19 pandemic hit. The school, staff, and students took on this challenge and we adapted. Many times I wanted to quit but everyone at the school was supportive and we all got through it together. I graduated from the Practical Nursing program September 2020. Sophomore: It's a very small school which is really nice because you get to personally know your professors and peers. There is a sense of community and family like nothing I've experienced before. Alum: I love nearly everything about this school! The sports are great, there are major entertainment events, art and religion are honored, there are over 1,000 student organizations, and I have had incredible professors consistently throughout my years (although peers in other majors did not always say this). In the area, there is hiking, skiing, several summer festivals, several thrift stores, and a high proportion of restaurants with different ethnic cuisines. Recommendation for change are prioritizing updates to dorm buildings and increasing accessibility to groceries downtown, as this is where a large number of students live (without their cars). It has many international students, but is otherwise limited in diversity. It mostly reflects the state/region, so I do not see this as something that necessarily needs to change.... Senior: Misericordia has felt like home since the first time I stepped on campus when I was getting recruited to play softball. Senior: My Widener University experience has been everything but bland. The opportunities are endless, from research trips, to campus jobs, access to experiences in my field, celebrating homecoming, or cheering on our basketball team as they became 2023 MAC Commonwealth Champions this year. Junior: I am a junior in Duquesne's nursing program and I cannot say enough good things about this school, at least academic wise. Professors know your name and genuinely want to see you succeed. Classwork is challenging but always helps me learn. Clinicals start early and help you feel confident in your skills by the time you enter your immersion. The campus is beautiful and in an excellent location that has allowed me to work a part-time job since my freshman year even without a car on campus. The food leaves a lot to be desired, which I why I mostly cook for myself now, as do the freshman dorms, but if you can get into Brottier or St. Martin's as an upperclassman, you're set. There are plenty of clubs and organizations on campus that have allowed me to meet friend and even serve in leadership roles. Junior: Gannon has a lot of great staff/faculty members and opportunities that are made available to virtually everybody on campus. There are lots of sport teams, clubs, and groups that are easy to join and exciting. Every teacher that I have had has been competent, not always enjoyable, but at bare minimum, able to educate their students. My main problem with the school is just how expensive it is. Freshman: Very good campus and education for the cost of attendance. I have not started my year at Berks yet but hopefully will be this fall. I had previously planned to start last called but had to defer last minute due to financial difficulties. But before I did that I was able to attend “Welcome Week” and experience a taste of beginning college. It was very discouraging when I had to defer indefinitely. I have a friend who started last fall and I have joined her on campus multiple times as well. Since I have a Penn State ID and I am enrolled I am apart of Penn State and was able to roam and join her places, such as the game room where we were able to play a game of pool with a few other Penn Staters. During my time at Penn State I was able to get a tour of the classrooms before classes started and even sit in on multiple classes.
