Junior: My experience with my college was definently something. When the mandate was put into place, my religious and medical exemptions were denied. I was told I’d be thrown out of the program. They decided to give me a one year leave of absence. I’m back this year and have been in clinical at the hospital ever since trying to finish my degree. It’s been quite the year and I’m sure my advisor is probably tired of me. But I’m just a student trying to finish her 1 year bachelors degree that turned into an expensive and long 2.5 years. Niche User: I went to ACPHS recently, as I attended their fall open house for 2022. It was amazing, way better than I could have ever imagined. The faculty were so helpful and passionate with their roles in the school, and the students were so welcoming to the students touring that day it was amazing. It was like they really know how to make you feel like family, and it was only an open house! I am very serious about a career as an ER doctor, and going to ACPHS seemed like the perfect fit for someone invested in medicine. The majors and curriculum were very appetizing, they sounded so interesting yet challenging (as the medical field is)! It is definitely a 10/10 college for me, due to the close knit community & the welcomeness they give to everyone coming through the doors! As a pre-med student wanting to stay close to home, I cannot think of a better college to attend. Sophomore: Professor Javier Leon is by far one of the best teachers I have ever had. I am taking Biochemistry, and as everyone has heard, this class is intense. I recommend anyone taking this class at this school to request him as your professor. He breaks down the material perfectly and makes it very simple to learn. He adapts to everyone's learning abilities (everyone learns differently) and is very easy to communicate with if you need help. Senior: I absolutely love RIT! Although primarily a tech school, there are so many unique people and personalities that attend, proving that everybody will find their people here, no matter who you are. Additionally, there are so many programs to choose from, and many have notable alum within the department. For example, our College of Art and Design is best known for their successful photography programs and film and animation. There are so many ways to get involved in clubs and organizations! From athletics to greek life, gaming clubs, and many more. There is something for everybody. Also, RIT's co-op program makes it one of the best options for students who are career-driven. Having the opportunity to partake in 2 (or more) paid internships while still in college helps pave the way for the future and helps them put their best foot forward when looking for a job post-grad. Senior: D'Youville University is an incredible place. This is my last year on campus and seeing all of the growth and progress over my five years has been amazing. The study spaces have been completely transformed and there is always something to do. If you're thinking about coming here just do it! You won't regret it and you'll have the time of your life. There are some people that find things to complain about all the time but that's typical. I'm so proud to be a Saint and I'm so sad that I graduate this year year. Sophomore: As a transfer student, the transition has been smooth with the help of advisors. All of my professors were phenomenal and I was able to get a good overview of what options I had in the first two years; I did not declare a major until the summer before my Junior year. Alum: Overall pretty satisfied with my undergraduate experience, but SUNY Buffalo is definitely a school that might not appeal to everybody. If you're a fan of big schools like myself, then it's great; plenty of campus activities and sports, absolutely amazing food choices (the dorm even has a grocery store), different campuses with different vibes for different people, and so many groups of people from all different walks of life. However, it's definitely huge party school (a pro and a con), and there's some safety issues outside of South campus to be aware of. Likewise, due to the massive class size, it's essential to be self-reliant/driven in your studies, and I could definitely see the 500 person lecture halls and greater difficulty connecting with professors turning-off people from UB. Parts of North campus itself does look a bit visually unappealing, and parking is a constant issue among students as well. Freshman: After finishing my first year as a freshman, I'd say that St. John's University is a top level amazing school. The environment of campus is perfect, you have a wide open great lawn surrounded by buildings of all varieties. HUGE diversity, you get to meet people from all over the country! Even though St. John's is a catholic school, they have a church is for all religions. Residence Halls are set in a village like area, all having different names and surrounding locations like the Montigoris Dining Hall and Public Safety. Dorms in the residence halls have their own setup, whether it's a suite or traditional, double room or single room. Speaking of Public Safety, I feel safe being on campus. They have guards at each gate and are on the scene if something goes down. Food at the dining hall is amazing, they have a different varieties of food, such like Grill and Hibachi.
