Freshman: I like the vast spectrum of extracurricular activities such as clubs and sports. There's a lot of fun things to do. I myself am in a few organizations, and I've enjoyed my stay here so far! I also like the medical programs they have to prepare you if you're a pre-med student. There are a lot of majors that tailor towards medicine, and they have a lot of resources you can go to. I will say the only real problems I've had are with dorming. It gets really hot in the summer, and you're not allowed to bring an air conditioner unless you have a medical condition which can be troublesome. Freshman: SHU gets a bad rep, but honestly, all colleges have their pros and cons. The adjustment period is never easy for anyone regardless of what school you go to, especially if you live on campus. I will say that your experience at SHU is what you make it. I highly recommend getting involved right off the bat, which is super easy since they basically throw a bunch of club and involvement opportunities in your face when you arrive on campus. Greek life does have a pretty big presence, I'd recommend getting involved with it (it's nothing like the south). The campus is beautiful which is a plus. If you're a health sciences/nursing major you'll get the best academic resources and attention. The Honors dorms are the nicest ones, if you don't get into honors you'll be put into the regular dorms but honestly they're not as bad as most typical college dorms (all dorms have AC and free laundry for example) and it's very easy to be social and make friends through them. Sophomore: I’m currently in my second semester of sophomore year and after completing all of my academic courses, I’m finally able to start working towards my illustration major and animation minor. Sophomore: University of Bridgeport is an excellent school in terms of curriculum, faculty, and, of course, the radiant and huge campus. You have a wide array of majors to choose from, and the extra curricular opportunities are amazing! This school is also very much suitable for international students, considering I am an international student and I fit it in very nicely, just as other students from over 30 countries who were with me during the Fall '21 intake. Sophomore: Naugatuck Valley Community College is a beautiful place to start after high school. Not only is the college free, but there are many opportunities for students to gain profit such as the STEM scholarship. As a STEM member, I can say that my experience was famaminal. Not only did this scholarship prepare me for the incoming college classes, but they have also helped me pick out my classes individually. Freshman: Norwalk Community College is a great start if you're not exactly ready to jump right in to college.
