Graduate Student: Even during Covid they were very helpful and accommodating. They made sure that all the students had access to their classes online. Freshman: My experience here has been pretty good. I have been taking Aims courses since my junior year of high school. One thing I particularly enjoy is how attentive the guidance counselors have been and how they are willing to help not only on a academic level but on a personal one as well. Alum: This is a fantastic community college! Classes are very affordable compared to larger colleges, and if you don't have the funds to pay for tuition at the beginning of the semester, the Financial Aid office will help you find a solution. Furthermore, RRCC offers a wide variety of online, in-person, or hybrid classes to suit your schedule, and most of them are guaranteed to transfer to other colleges in Colorado. The professors are very supportive and want you to succeed with your academic goals. Plus, I prefer the small class sizes here over the larger, more intimidating classes at state universities. Also, it has great facilities and resources including a brand new student rec center, an IDEA lab to introduce students to engineering, the Arvada campus dedicated to the health sciences, a bookstore, and a coffee shop. Freshman: Overall I have had a fantastic experience with Community College of Denver. From the very beginning after submitting my FAFSA, to picking my degree plan, through enrolling in classes, they have been quick, efficient and very helpful. I did run into a small hiccup at the very beginning as I had originally filled out my application for the Fall/Spring semesters of the 23-24 year; however, I quickly changed my mind and wanted to begin taking classes as early as the Summer 23. While this may not have caused me any trouble if I had selected the correct major from the start, I ran into some trouble after changing from doing a certificate plan straight into the AAS degree plan, and it took some finessing to fix my enrollment to correctly show the degree plan, and therefore allow financial aid to cover my classes. Sophomore: I've been a PCC student since about 2018. Since then I've recieved an associates in general studies and my CNA certification, as well as my CPR cert. Currently pursuing nursing. My experience has been mostly incredible. The only thing that heavily disappoints me is that PCC closed Pueblo Joe's which was a community hang out spot and eatery. PCC Pueblo Campus hasn't been the same since COVID closed it down in 2020. I feel as if the student life aspect lacks heavily. Overall, there is little to no life on campus these days. Graduate Student: I have been a student of the CCA since January 2021 up until Summer of 2023 when I completed my associates of science degree. I still have ambition to continue my education at the establishment as a graduate student since I am only a senior in high school who has been able to use the dual enrollment system to its full potential. The college has a wide variety of courses to choose from with many also being available online for convenience. CentreTech Campus offers you many useful resources while Lowry Campus contains locations specialized for certain types of education such as medicine or photography. The college also has a very diverse culture which makes social bonding an essential aspect of the experience. The professors have a good understanding of the concepts they teach and will support you in case you are struggling with course material.
