Sophomore: I think that Sierra College as a Community College is absolutely great. The work load is 100% comparable to a 4 year, and the professors are actually pretty great! I will say that the campus itself is always under construction but that is because they are simply trying to update the looks of everything. The college itself is quite old but the efforts in making the scenery and the overall energy better is quite nice! Sophomore: I have only attended Folsom Lake College online due to Covid-19. Still, my experience has been amazing! The professors have worked very hard to help make the online environment as close to an in-person class as possible. They are always there to answer questions and always ready to make assignments as easy to understand and complete as possible. The professors have helped motivate me to work as hard as I would if I had to meet with the class fac-to-face. They do this by commenting on posts and encouraging you to press on even when you don't do so well on an assignment. It feels like they really want to help. Classes are so much better when professors are hyped and excited to teach, and especially when they actually care about your success in the course. Sophomore: The resources at American River College are pretty good. The transfer pathway from here to UC is well planned, and you can transfer to most UCs with little to no issues. They have the Beaver Cares program which gives food to its students! In addition they have plenty of employment opportunities for students which help them to gain some upward mobility. Safety wise the campus could be better, because bikes often get stolen here and there are some crimes that happen here sparingly. Freshman: So far, this school has met my expectations! I love the laid back schedule that they offer and the fact that you can easily just catch up to your work and stay with your class. I appreciate my teacher, Ms. Y, for being there for my class and for helping me when I needed it most. I still have a couple more months with her, but I know I'm in the right hands. The staff are incredibly attentive, friendly, and they listen to your concerns and any complaints you could have with your course. I was the person who put off school for years, my mom would harass me to join school and I didn't because of the simple fact I wanted to make money. My mom passed in October, 2021, and I enrolled into school less than a week after her anniversary. When it was official that I was a student, I remember just sobbing, a feeling of pride and sadness that it took me so long. I know she's proud of me, and proud of the educators I have guiding me. Freshman: Only rating the Medical Assisting/phlebotomy program. The school follows all CDC guidelines regarding the containment and control for handling covid-19. Staff are professional and everyone will give you a welcoming greeting once you step foot onto the campus main building. The school also provides labs to help aid towards understanding a course and its material better. MTI offers a handful of payment options towards tuition. Pertaining to education, the instructors provide an abundance of tools that will be applied to any job site within the medical field.
