Junior: I absolutely adore ETSU! It has been such an incredible place to call home. Coming from over an hour away, and never having been to Johnson City before, I had no reason to believe this would become home for me. Despite this prior hesitancy, this place has become home. From the other students to faculty and staff, you are more than just a number here. Some larger universities it feels as though you are just another check to the university's bank account, YOU ARE NOT HERE. These people care and the location is beautiful. The faculty pushes you to go farther and beyond just the walls of the classroom. Study abroad opportunities are bountiful, and internships are easy to come by. Graduate Student: Very neat academic programs, good value for money, people get along well, campus is extremely well taken care of and beautiful even for such a small campus. There aren’t exactly athletic programs at VHCC, but the Professors are extremely helpful and provide work situation based assignments in accordance to your major. There aren’t any dorms/housing provided by the college, and no cafeteria of any sorts. The Wolfgrounds Coffee Shop is the only, and highly recommended place to go! Sophomore: At Northeast state, the professors and the staff were very helpful and polite, online and in person; they were able to help me find the information that I needed and put me in the right direction anytime I was lost. The students there were great to work with, I enjoyed reading what they had to say in the online discussions, and I enjoyed the conversations that would follow sometimes too. In person classes were nice too. Being surrounded by people helps when you need the opinion or advise of someone who is pretty much in the same boat with you. There would always be someone in a class who would say good morning and ask how someone else was, and whether it was directed at me or not, it still made me feel happy that someone took the time to talk to someone else.
