Freshman: I really like my experience at WSC so far! The school is very nice and clean. There are always activities that goes on at campus that involve the students. This is a great school to be a student athlete at because of how seriously sports are taken here. WSC is a great place to start if you are looking to transfer onto a four year and even better if you are planning on graduating with an associates degree. There are many things that you can be apart of. Everyone including, professors and staff are all so nice and make the college experience a lot more enjoyable. If I could change something about WSC, I would make the campus food more enjoyable and have more options for the students. Freshman: Lake Region State College has a moto of changing lives. They are 100 percent true to that statement as I have only been here for a small number of weeks, my life is already improved. The small class sizes makes the environment outstandingly comforting as an incoming freshman. This school does not fail to make you feel cared for and taken care of. This is the type of school where teachers remember your name after the first day and say hello in the hallways. I am the type of student that requires one on one attention to be able to complete the task given to me and this is exactly what I am receiving at Lake Region. I am apart of the softball team as well and it is nothing less than a family. The coaching staff resembles a parental figure. I am only three weeks into my two-year long adventure with Lake Region and I am already loving it. I am an international student who came down from Canada, the process was made very easy. Sophomore: Hello my name is Keri Balerud and I am 31 years old and is attending college at United Tribes Technical College started here in August of 2022 and I am pursuing a field in psychology. My experience here at United Tribes Technical College is so far a great life journey, being a single mom of 3, recently separated so its a challenge to do it on my own financially and struggles or stressors along the way but my determination to keep going is always looking back at where I was, but I am so glad my life's journey in college is overall great experience that opened my brain up to so much that interests me in that field. I deal with anxiety and depression and I deal with addiction in my life so I can relate and I have learned great things to help with my sobriety. March 8th will be my first meeting to join a club here on campus that the HSS fields and psychology team up and build our club.
