Freshman: Overall, my experience with NOVA has been positive. I appreciated the range of courses and programs offered, which allowed me to explore different areas of study and find my academic interests. The professors at NOVA were knowledgeable and approachable, always willing to provide guidance and support. There were ample resources available for students, such as the library and computer labs. However, there are a few areas where I would like to see some changes. I believe NOVA could benefit from enhancing its career services and internship opportunities for students. While there were resources available, they could be more robust and better advertised to ensure students are aware of the various professional development opportunities. Other: One of the best community colleges out there. I am currently a dual-enrollment student and coming in, I was worried that I would get made fun of for my age, but it was the complete opposite! The friends I have made at Montgomery College truly encourage me to become the best version of myself. They push me to come out of my comfort zone and try new things. Additionally, the professors are all so sweet, understanding, and are readily available for help whenever needed. Beyond the classroom, there are a plethora of clubs to get involved in and many tutoring centers to seek assistance from. My personal favorite was the Reading and Writing Center. Freshman: I have been a freshman at the Catholic University of America for approximately 5 months. Initially, I was very nervous at the prospect of moving to a new place and being on my own. However, both the staff and peers at my school made it feel like home almost immediately upon my arrival. From move in day forward, all of the students were welcoming with open arms! There was a whole freshmen orientation with multiple activities put into place to get to know other freshmen! It was extremely easy to learn about and get involved in extracurriculars on campus which made making friends much easier than I could have ever hoped for! While the coursework can be challenging, it is not zap challenging that you cannot also be involved in extracurriculars and even have a job if you desire!
