Freshman: For starters; the Palos Hills Campus is beautiful; with impeccable landscaping and scenic views…It’s better than your average 2 yr college. This location has a lot to offer in regards to student life and the staff seemed professional and friendly for the most part! I got a late start in the registration process but I was able to navigate fairly easily to get started on time for the fall semester. The college is diverse when it comes to the student enrollment, and as a minority student, I didn’t feel any bias concerning race etc. The staff especially in the Liberal Arts Department, which is my field of study…was very kind, and helpful. In regards to the things I didn’t like?…I wish they had dorm rooms so I could live on campus Lol! But the staff in the bookstore seemed a bit rude and disorganized! There were only two lines open and our cashier left her station leaving us hang out in line as other students in the other line were served before us. Overall, I would recommend. 2 thumbs up.... Alum: Waubonsee has been a positive part of my local community for as long as I can remember. It has been a reliable place to consider for continuing education locally. The programs offered have only expanded and improved with time. Online courses have greatly improved, compared to ten years ago. I have taken classes here off and on throughout my adult life. The past two years I attended full-time to complete my associates in science, with intent to transfer into a radiography program. During my time here, I have encountered minimal issues with professors. There were only two instructors that I can recall being less than helpful or clear about teaching course information effectively. College administration staff have always been helpful with answering my questions, and assisting me with course recommendations that fit my long-term career goals. Sophomore: Lincoln College of Technology is a Trade School. It is not a traditional college or university. I was always interested more in learning a trade rather than attending a 4 year college, although trade schools were not really given attention in high school like colleges were, Lincoln Tech was still the choice I made. I love working with technology, electrical systems and the EEST program at Lincoln Tech provides me with the material and instructors to help me learn, and become more familiar with the material. There are many opportunities for employment after graduating as it is not just focusing on a single thing. Electrical Systems is a massive industry and has many different employers. The EEST program at Lincoln Tech teaches students how to use and install fire alarm systems, cable and internet services, how to bend conduit, how to install outlets, switches, and how to use relays. Graduate Student: As a former Triton College student, I can honestly say most every professor I had was very connected to their area of teaching. I had a special connection with most professors, given that a lot of the classes I took were connected to my intended transferring major. One of the things I love about the school was the buildings. Mostly all the building are connected by a glass corridor that displays the school beautifully. It was honestly a really good view first thing in the morning. It made for a good rest of my day! One thing I would change about the school, would be the involvement of students. Freshman: I had a great experience at Richard J Daley College.. The staff was very nice and helpful., The teachers were very hands on with many different teaching styles.. The classrooms were comfortable and not over crowed..another good thing about city colleges is, they can prepare you for a 4 year program in a university.. Many four-year colleges and universities have enrollment requirements that someone isn't ready to meet. A community college can offer remedial classes and general classes to help a student obtain the education they need to pursue higher education, for a cheaper price, while boosting their GPA.. The only thing I would add in a city college is probably a office somewhere in the building, that focuses only on the grants that’s offered to the students.. Because in most universities they have a staff that focuses mainly on that aspect, because most students don’t know about the grants being offered to them to help pay for their education.....
