Sophomore: I really love the change of scenery I have here at UNR from Las Vegas. Although fitting in at first was a challenge, I got to learn so much about myself and the community here at UNR. I love how UNR tries to be as welcoming and helpful as possible to those in state and out of state freshman, transfers, and returning students. There are always staff, students, and peers ready to help with anything from the learning center to study groups all over campus. The student life here is also equally as amazing as the academic scene with multiple events allowing students to mingle and learn about one another. Sophomore: I love just being and walking around the campus. There are many trees and beautiful cacti around. Everything on campus isn't too far. Maybe a 10-minute walk for buildings that are on the other side of campus. The main library is always full but it's nice because then the rest of the libraries on campus are usually empty. The Architecture Study Library is my favorite one on campus. It's always nice and quiet. Additionally, the group study rooms tend to always be available which is great. In my first year, I had to live in the dorms and it wasn't too bad. The space is pretty big. My first roommate left the first week of school and I was randomly paired with my second roommate. She was nice but we just had completely opposite personalities so living together was a little hard. The dining common food isn't that bad. It's actually pretty good. Junior: College of Southern Nevada is a good community college for students! Staff, professors, and advisors are very helpful. They guide you to the right path you want to take. The school is very supportive of you accomplishing your degree. It has a lot of learning opportunities to start college careers. They are always available to help you whenever needed with whatever you need help with. The school and courses are overall great. College of southern Nevada has made everything needed for me and my academic journey a lot easier. Coming from the small classrooms that make the teacher-student relations a lot better. I can simply get helpful feedback and general help thoroughly whenever I need it. Professors are usually very supportive and helpful. The professors prepare you for the real world. Freshman: I can't say too much as I am a freshman, however, I've been loving my experience at this college. The campus is stunning and always super clean. The professors are amazing and truly care about your education. Everyone is very friendly and it's easy to make friends. They offer great academic events that bring the students together and even have study rooms available in the library. Another cool thing I recently learned is that the school brings in therapy dogs during finals week! I thought this was so unique and cool! Truly one of the best colleges in Nevada....
