Sophomore: Yale has been a fun and enjoyable experience overall. I would definitely choose Yale again if I had to re-do my college application. Academics: some departments are better taught than other departments. Yale can be weaker in CS and Math compared to other universities, but most alums are still very successful. Like most colleges, there is a lot of independent learning and there are numerous resources to help you. The environment is not competitive unless premed. Social life: Yale has an AMAZING social life compared to other universities of equal caliber. There is always something going on and you can be as social as you want. Sophomore: Having just finished my first year at Wesleyan I can definitely see why this place is so highly rated. By far my favorite thing about this place are the people I've met from professors to students to alumni. I just think this place attracts a type of person who is passionate and interesting and I think that's why I'm in college in the first place. Freshman: I like the vast spectrum of extracurricular activities such as clubs and sports. There's a lot of fun things to do. I myself am in a few organizations, and I've enjoyed my stay here so far! I also like the medical programs they have to prepare you if you're a pre-med student. There are a lot of majors that tailor towards medicine, and they have a lot of resources you can go to. I will say the only real problems I've had are with dorming. It gets really hot in the summer, and you're not allowed to bring an air conditioner unless you have a medical condition which can be troublesome. Junior: I have had a fantastic experience at Fairfield university! I love the community here and how friendly everyone is. It is super easy to make friends in classes and during clubs and activities. It is really nice to be able to make meaningful connections with professors with the small class sizes and Fairfield guarantees an internship during your four years so that is a nice perk. Sophomore: I’m currently in my second semester of sophomore year and after completing all of my academic courses, I’m finally able to start working towards my illustration major and animation minor. Freshman: SHU gets a bad rep, but honestly, all colleges have their pros and cons. The adjustment period is never easy for anyone regardless of what school you go to, especially if you live on campus. I will say that your experience at SHU is what you make it. I highly recommend getting involved right off the bat, which is super easy since they basically throw a bunch of club and involvement opportunities in your face when you arrive on campus. Greek life does have a pretty big presence, I'd recommend getting involved with it (it's nothing like the south). The campus is beautiful which is a plus. If you're a health sciences/nursing major you'll get the best academic resources and attention. The Honors dorms are the nicest ones, if you don't get into honors you'll be put into the regular dorms but honestly they're not as bad as most typical college dorms (all dorms have AC and free laundry for example) and it's very easy to be social and make friends through them. Sophomore: University of Bridgeport is an excellent school in terms of curriculum, faculty, and, of course, the radiant and huge campus. Sophomore: Naugatuck Valley Community College is a beautiful place to start after high school. Not only is the college free, but there are many opportunities for students to gain profit such as the STEM scholarship. As a STEM member, I can say that my experience was famaminal. Freshman: Norwalk Community College is a great start if you're not exactly ready to jump right in to college.
