Junior: My overall experience at Pittsburg State University has been nothing but the best. I love the atmosphere of the campus and college in general. Every professor I have had here has been so helpful, they truly want the best for the students ensuring that we all succeed not only in their class but our futures. Pittsburg State University opened their arms to me the first day I toured it. The campus is very inclusive and offers many opportunities to join all sorts of different clubs. Junior: I enjoyed the college, it has a great environment with great teachers who will work with you if you are honest and open with them. I was terribly sick one semester and my teacher went out of his way to make sure I knew I was not gonna fail and that he'd catch me up if need be. He studied for hours after class with me, and I did end up passing! The counselors are wonderful people, very fun to stop and chit chat with when you're feeling bored of class. The library is a wonderful place to study, and make new study buddy partners, and the kitchen has absolutely amazing food, you've got to try it. Alum: I cannot speak highly enough about WSU Tech. I met all my favorite teachers there in the Information Technology program. Great opportunities for students including those in high school. You can start college programs through WSU Tech as early as your Sophomore year in high school. I started my Sophomore year and graduated from the IT program my Senior year. WSU Tech offers amazing classes and programs in Aviation, Healthcare, Construction, Manufacturing, Information Technology, and everything in between across its two campuses. Freshman: My experience in Garden City Community College has been great. I love the teachers and the program they have here. They take care of you and talk to make sure you are not struggling. This school has so much to provide to student who don't have a lot of money to afford going to college. They help you find scholarships or help with financial aid. I cannot wait to start the nursing program next year, hopefully I can get in. This college has shown so much support to students from out of the country. I like the experience I have my first year and hope it goes well my second year. I like that this college is not that stressful and that it gives you a place to feel safe. They make sure you feel at home and that you can talk to each other if you feel like you miss your home. But I got lucky because this college is next to my town. Alum: Hutchinson is a great option for those looking at earning some online credits as well as working on an associate's degree on campus. The online infrastructure through this college is robust, quality, and pretty affordable. While some areas are less equipped, the sciences department is a standout. For those looking at on-campus classes, HutchCC has done a fantastic job maintaining the physical campus and it really is a standout community college nestled in a sleepy town. Graduate Student: I think the social aspect of Cowley is amazing, and executed almost perfectly. Cowley is only a community college and not as big as other colleges, and definitely not as big as universities around it. BUT I will say that given that it is a smaller school, Cowley treats its students lavishly. And the way students are always given opportunities to get out into the community and experience life in a small town in Kansas. Freshman: Nice campus, engaged community! Excellent vocal music program and campus life experience! The large on-campus population in a small town makes for a uniquely valuable social growth opportunity for students coming into college. Small class sizes ensure students are able to be given the one on one interaction time that all data shows to be beneficial. I was a student here and met friends from all walks of life, from around the country who I'm friends with 20 years later. The staff and faculty care about the success of their students, both academically and personally. Like any college experience you will get out what you put into it, but Highland truly offers a unique opportunity for growth during those transition years of a traditional student coming from High School and going on to a 4 year. Sophomore: Ive been a student at Barton County Community College on and off for the past handful of years, and am currently a full time student in the Paramedic Program. BCCC has always being incredibly accommodating to me as a student. Particularly, the financial aid department has gone above and beyond to help me make sure everything financial is in order. Especially notable is one of the financial aid ladies bending over backwards, when I lost track of a particular scholarship, in order to make sure I had the help and coverage I needed. On multiple occasions, my teachers and instructors have helped me through class, especially when dealing with personal issues and complications. All staff encounters have been phenomenal, and they truly embody caring about their students. BCCC offers an extensive variety of classes, both in-class and online.
