Freshman: The University of Mississippi, also called Ole Miss, has been an amazing experience for me so far. I've only been in the university for about two months, and in that short period of time, I've been able to do many things. I especially love the very high quality of the professors. They've exceeded every single one of my expectations, and I really enjoy attending their classes! I've also had a really great experience with the International Student & Scholar Services; they're staff has worked hard to ensure that I get everything I need as an international student. The campus is really beautiful, and everything seems to blend in pretty well. There's also a great sports scene if you're into that! Of course, there are some things that could use some work, such as the quality of housing and the variety of food options offered on campus. Junior: My college experience here at Mississippi College has been a rollercoaster of growth. My first step onto campus was delightful, and I knew I belonged in an atmosphere like the one Mississippi College offers. God-fearing welcomes you and eventually, it becomes a sort of natural response. Mississippi College is founded on honesty with others and yourself! You will become accustomed to this beautiful way of life and feel transformed on behalf of God and the universities mission. I believe Mississippi College is a choice that would be hard to regret. The teachers put God forth every moment and encourage the students attending to do the same. Academically there's no place like such. Education never ceases to become better and improve on the things that may have been an academic stressor to the students prior. The town is beautiful and safe. Senior: There are many things I love about southern miss! My personal favorite is the setup of campus - I'm a very directionally challenged individual, and even I could navigate the campus after a short time. The campus offers a variety of places to eat, study, and participate in extracurricular events. My favorite places are the Payne recreation center and the Cook Library. Of course, there are some downsides. I disliked the credit hour cap each semester - why can I take 19 credit hours but not 20? Why do intercession courses count toward the full session? While that has yet (and, hopefully, never will) affected my degree progress, I have had several friends and classmates who took a long time to graduate because they were only allowed to take up to 6 classes a semester. Sophomore: Belhaven University has one of the most unique communities that I have ever seen on a college campus. The professors care about their students and strive to know their students personally so that they are able to support them in their studies. The student body is equally wonderful if you decide to dive into it. Students are excited about getting to know and serve those around them. As a Christian school, many of the students are of the same religion and continue to do their best to show others the love of Christ. I have grown not only in my knowledge of my degree fields but also in my relationship with God and as a person. I cannot imagine going to another school.
