Sophomore: My experience at Texas A&M University in College Station has been nothing if not incredible. Everyone you meet is beyond nice and willing to lend you a hand. Professors (from my experience) want to see you succeed and benefit my education enormously. The environment that the school is in, College Station, TX, is a place like no other because the entire city is built around the university. If you live here, and didn't attend TAMU, you're an oddball - and I love that! Everyone here has a common unity in the best school in the nation for a variety of subjects, especially engineering and agriculture. Last but certainly not least, the traditions give this school life. Junior: Texas Woman's University is an amazing school. I am a nursing student at the Houston campus. I have learned so much in my short time attending. I have only spent a semester at TWU and I absolutely love it. The professors are very knowledgeable and they are really good at teaching and making lectures engaging. The professors have been nice, understanding, and very professional. Although the content they teach can be difficult, they deliver it in a way that is easy to understand. They really let you know their expectations from the beginning and it sets you up for success in their classes. Even after our first exam, some of the students that struggled with the first exam had one on one meetings with our professors to see what areas the student needed help with. Freshman: Pima is different to other schools because it is not big like a university, no sports, food vendors. It is a school that offers many different healthcare professions. My experience at Pima is pretty good so far, I feel safe when I arrive to campus because there is a security guard in the parking lot and some around the buildings. I am in the dental hygiene program and it is a challenging program because it is a competitive field. We have daily quizzes in different classes, but it helps me be on track with my school work and will get me prepared to take my boards whenever I finish the program. Graduate Student: The Lone Star College System is not only supportive, kind, compassionate and eager to provide the tools and guidance on our journies through life, but also quite flexible. I broke my wrist in a rollerskaing accident in the middle of my senior semester and eeded special arrangements because I could not use my wrist for three to four weeks. Each and every one of my professors cooperated with me during my recovery! I graduated in May, but took my final science class over the summer. I am in my fifties, and had to change careers due to Multiple Sclerosis. Sophomore: Overall, my community college was and still is an amazing experience! All of the professors that I've had throughout my years of being enrolled in the institution were always very professional and helpful when it came to students needs while taking their course. Every professor went above and beyond to make sure I grasped the different subjects that were discussed if I ever at one point lacked any understanding. Junior: I have been at blinn for majority of my college experience and excited to graduate the surgical tech program (the professors in this program are top tier) next year! Blinn as a whole is a great school when trying to factor in cost and the efficiency of the school. I have had some issues with professors in the past and then unable to drop the class even though they (the professors) were unprofessional. The faculty in the admissions is great, I’ve never had an issue. I would love to see the advising department become a little more enthusiastic about helping the students. As for the financial aid department, they are helpful to an extent. I’ve always struggled with getting aid even though I’ve been independent since I was 17, but as far as the schools concerned that does not qualify you to get appropriate aid. They are super friendly in that department but not very helpful regarding some unfortunate circumstances. As for the party life, it’s non existent unless you know people already.... Graduate Student: I had a pretty good experience here! There were some teachers within the nursing program who acted like they didn’t care, but there were far more who did! They helped motivate me and even talked me off the ledge when I was thinking about quitting! Occasionally you do run into some issues with some staff as they will just keep redirecting you to one staff memeber to another if they don’t know an answer to your question.
