Junior: An amazing school filled with wonderful people (students, faculty, residents). So many opportunities for students to explore different parts of their education and passion. Great location with a downtown that is always busy with different restaurants, shops, bars, studios, and even the cutest weekend farmers market. At this school you will never be bored- there are always people who want to play sports, go out, go to the gym, study together, etc. I have never been happier. It is such a perfect, fun, exciting, fulfilling school to go to. Not a single bad thing to say (besides maybe that the winters are not the most fun but everything else totally makes up for that). Freshman: I'm a freshman at CCS studying Crafts and Material Studies. The education is super individualized in my experience, probably because of the great student-teacher ratio. I've learned so many new techniques since I've been here. The social life is subpar, but it is present and it's amazing to be surrounded by so many creatives! It's really clear that everyone here is incredibly dedicated and that the alumni are super successful. Sophomore: The students, staff, and environment are incredible. I couldn't imagine myself anywhere else. If you want to grow closer to God, this is a place to do it. The religious community is unbelievably strong. Sometimes this causes interdenominational conflicts, but you can avoid it rather easily. I'm Catholic, and the Catholic Society is a strong and amazing organization. The professors are brilliant and are easy to approach. Hillsdale's students are one-of-a-kind. Many students are engaged/married by graduation! They say to find someone here because once you leave you'll be disappointed by who you find. If you are strongly leftist, atheist, uninterested in academics, are promiscuous, or like to drink/smoke/do drugs, not for you. Very high caliber of students and faculty. It's definitely a bubble, but a great bubble to live in. Hillsdale is rapidly increasing in prominence and in my opinion exceeds many Ivy League programs. Also, 48% acceptance is wrong. Junior: As a student who's just over halfway through my time at Hope, I can confidently say that I've enjoyed my time here. I have been able to learn how to overcome different challenges, form some lifelong friendships, as well as form strong connections with my professors. Since I started college during COVID, the majority of my freshman year was online, but I'm now all in-person classes and I think that's been extremely helpful in my college experience. I will say that I wish it was a little more diverse and accepting to people who aren't white, Christian, and able-bodied and neurotypical. I have seen struggles with how disabled students are treated, as well as neurodivergent students, which is slightly disappointing since the College preaches acceptance of all. But, those issues have been in select corners of Hope, and there are many places and people who want to help! Freshman: Western Michigan University is a wonderful university where the city is mostly centered around being a college town. Nice big campus with some beautiful landmarks. Dorm size is relatively decent, but I have single room. There’s a lot of walking to do to cover the entire campus, and trust you get a hood workout with all the hills. The college of business is a great program to be a part of as well as the college of education. Bring that I am majoring in sports management my particular college is education but I’m minoring in business as well. As a freshman advisors are very necessary. They are the knees who really help you gain your college foundation. They help you set up your graduation plan which includes helping you select the appropriate courses. My first semester at Western has been overall great. I achieved a 4.0 for the end of the first term and that was a huge accomplishment. Senior: I transferred last year to CMU and was welcomed by so many outgoing and caring faculty and students. The classes I have taken have helped bolster my future and what I want for my career. Sophomore: Being an incoming second year student, I have yet fully experience Michigan tech, but my first year has been anything but boring. Sophomore: It's a great college to attend for the money you spend. I started with just GED classes because I wasn't sure what field I wanted to go into, but eventually I decided to go into Culinary Arts and Macomb Community College has a great Culinary Arts program. All of the teachers I have had have been super educational and helpful for all of the classes I've taken. Both Center Campus and South Campus are very clean and I never feel as if my safety is compromised. The amount of classes offered is just incredible! You really could study anything there. Before Covid-19 I would eat lunch and study in the cafeteria at South Campus. The food there was fairly good and the atmosphere was super friendly. During normal times there are a good amount of student clubs that fit any students' interests. All of the bookstore staff were incredibly helpful and friendly when I needed items for my classes. I am already very experienced in art, so I didn't expect to get much out of the introductory drawing class, but the professor was very good at challenging each student's personal level. Sophomore: I enjoyed many of OCC's teachers. You can tell a lot of them love what they do! My first day at OCC was in 2019. I was 16 and started a dual enrollment program. My professors that year guided me to become a better college student. Being a high schooler was hard, but I am glad my first-year teachers made a safe environment for my peers and me. I have to admit it was stressful, primarily through Covid. Occ professors understood all of our situations. Their whole staff handled Covid to the best of their abilities. Nowadays, they also have better features on MYOCC. You can do most things there and it's just another thing they do well at. I must admit I am not the biggest fan of math. At times, I've had issues with math professors and their ways of teaching. Some would instead make you see a TA, or students than help you. This was something I sadly disliked.
