Freshman: Kent State is an amazing school! They have great club academics and athletics that really cater to anyone's needs or dreams. As a poly science student I have an overwhelming amount of resources that help me in my studies, networking and making myself a better person. At first I had doubt about Kent State due to it living in the shadow of Ohio State University (I live in central Ohio near Columbus for reference.) But I was so wrong. The only thing I will say is that compared to urban universities it lack things to do BUT Kent is considered a suburban area school so for what it is it goes above my expectations overall. Freshman: As an international student having no experience, I was skeptical about applying, but I must say the overall experience was wonderful, as the application process was seamless, and the documents needed for the processing of my application were not much. My questions were dully answered, and I was communicated if something was missing in my application. Furthermore, the availability of scholarships to indigent and non-indigents, makes the package astounding. You also don't need to submit another application; you are automatically considered for scholarships. Senior: The UofM Twin Cities is an amazing public university! It offers just about any program you can think of and many of these programs are ranked extremely well in the United States, as well as around the world. Much of the faculty is involved in groundbreaking research, which enables students to be involved in research as well. The academic standards are rigorous but not too demanding to be successful. The location in the Twin Cities is wonderful for access to opportunities in the community for internships and partnerships. There are tons of student groups and activities for students to get involved in, which helps makes the large school feel smaller and offers opportunity to build a close knit community here. Having Division I sports means there is always a fun sporting event to go to, many of which are free for current students. Freshman: I was a part of Boulders Pre-Colligarte Program which involved Juniors in Highschool to come down to a university and experience the life of a college student. Sophomore: So far everything has been great! The campus is beautiful during the summer and fall, although the winter scenery is lovely. We have a diverse range of athletics available to everyone and in my opinion, were the best in the state. Junior: NC State is not just a school with great academics, campus, and people, but instead a wildly diverse cosmopolitan community. At State there is truly something for everyone. For those who don’t know or have never visited campus, State is located close to Downtown Raleigh. Alum: North Dakota State University was some of the best experiences I have had in my life. This includes academics such as internships as well as extracurriculars. There was always something going on during the week and on the weekends to get you involved in the NDSU community or the Fargo community at large. Alum: UGA is definitely a large, State University which was a fit for me since I was unsure as to what career path I was initially interested in. So many choices! But it gets much smaller and intimate over time as you get through the core classes and begin to specialize. I joined a fraternity while I was there, but you certainly don't need to be a part of Greek life to find a multitude of social opportunities. It's very easy to make friends at UGA. The sports are amazing and the academics continue to strengthen as the years go by. There really aren't any obvious weaknesses to discuss. The only thing I will say is that the number of students is stressing the available infrastructure in terms of parking and housing. If UGA will focus on increasing the number of dorm rooms and parking spaces then it would help a lot. Sophomore: Stillwater has a beautiful campus and a family like feel. Dorms are adequate but I think there needs to be better training for the CMs. The one I dealt with was nice enough but didn't seem to have to knowledge to deal with much of anything. There is also a lot of off campus housing that still seems like you are on campus, which is an excellent option for students with pets! There are a lot of activities and clubs to join, ranging from sports, to music and entertainment. Something that would be beneficial would be to have better access to tutors that have specified areas of expertise. Also on campus work is available for about any type of work you can think of. The professors are mostly helpful, although there are a few that are not very accessible to students for help with class work. Would like to see better on campus food options. Alum: Overall pretty satisfied with my undergraduate experience, but SUNY Buffalo is definitely a school that might not appeal to everybody. If you're a fan of big schools like myself, then it's great; plenty of campus activities and sports, absolutely amazing food choices (the dorm even has a grocery store), different campuses with different vibes for different people, and so many groups of people from all different walks of life. However, it's definitely huge party school (a pro and a con), and there's some safety issues outside of South campus to be aware of. Likewise, due to the massive class size, it's essential to be self-reliant/driven in your studies, and I could definitely see the 500 person lecture halls and greater difficulty connecting with professors turning-off people from UB. Parts of North campus itself does look a bit visually unappealing, and parking is a constant issue among students as well. Freshman: The University of San Antonio is the perfect "in-between" school. UTSA has the big school feel that most graduating seniors desire when searching for colleges to attend. At the same time, the school isn't SO big that the classrooms are too big for the professors to even know their students. With my experience at UTSA, all of my classes were a pretty decent size yet the professors could pick out students and remember their names pretty easily. Due to this fact, the retaining information, learning, and the education system there overall was great. Being able to learn here has been very easy for me and fun. Sophomore: As a sophomore, my knowledge may be slightly limited, but my experience with Wellesley College has been pretty good! It's a lovely campus with beautiful older buildings, small classes, and friendly students. Although the social life may be limited, I enjoy the smaller campus personally gives more of a sense of community. But I will say the dining hall food requires attention, the food served is often repetitive and gets bland quickly. Though I believe it might be because of limited resources, but that should not leave to being served chicken nuggets and fries three to four times a week.
