Freshman: I am an incoming Freshman student. I toured the campus November 22, and enjoyed everything they had to offer. I was able to apply for an early decision and received acceptance in December. I signed up for FASFA, housing and orientation in December. I recommend starting early so that you can select the dorm room of your choice and speak to your academic advisor. Freshman: ABAC (Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College) has been a welcoming environment to be at. I suggest new student to stay in the dorm to get an insightful view of the campus. Staying in the dorm helped me gain lifelong friendships. This college has helped me grow internally; the staff are helpful academically. This college has taught me so many things such as the importance of having an education. Coming from a low-income family and as first-generation student, I have an enormous amount of weights over my shoulders, feeling like burden. At times, I get myself overwhelmed financially. It saddens me, but God is with me. Although this school is fabulous, it did not have the major I desire, so I had to transfer to a more expensive college. Not sure, if I took the right step. Freshman: I really like the culture here: we emphasize both working hard and playing hard. Now, even for an introvert like myself, this is a great place to meet people, but also to hunker down and work. I really feel like my work matters here. Every assignment serves a purpose. I will say for a tech school, our digital infrastructure is laughable. Sure, our research is protected and secure, but not a day goes by that something does not crash. Freshman: Everything feels safe at the CCGA they care about their students in and out of the classroom it's truly like a home away from home. You don't have to worry about feeling like an outcast because they have so many different clubs/programs for you to be apart, you name it they got it, and if they don't have it you can take your ideas to board to get it approved and you can start your own club. Alum: TMU was a breath of fresh air. I had attended two other colleges before this, and as soon as I set foot on campus, I knew TMU was "it" for me. The best part is the way people care for you. Sophomore: I love Covenant for so many reasons! Particularly because it is exactly what is advertised. They say at orientation that you only get out of Covenant what you pour into it. I wholeheartedly agree. I have seen people invest in their community, commit to the work of the class load, and go above and beyond in connecting with professors and support staff. The tight-knit community offers a beautiful picture of people dwelling in unity and coming together in a particular set of beliefs, in this case, belief in Christ. I have loved pouring into this community, being involved in the lives of those around me and being encouraged in a transitional season of life by them. Overall, it is exactly what I was hoping to find in a college community: a safe space, where I can be true to my beliefs and find friends and training for a career that will last a lifetime. Senior: I love Berry College’s campus. Not only is it gorgeous, but it’s spacious, too. The professors are wonderful and personable. They want to see students succeed, and genuinely care about their students’ well being — physically and mentally. The college and professors were extremely understanding when I completed a semester at home (Fall 2020) for my mental health. I was welcomed back with open arms, and went on to do even greater things than I imagined. The work experience I have gained is entirely unique to Berry. I completed a thesis for my Honors degree, which has helped me in applying to graduate programs. As a small aside, the picky eater in me had a difficult time adjusting to the food on campus. Living in a dorm with a kitchen has been my greatest decision. Junior: I am a current student of GSU - Armstrong. Like anywhere you go, you will have positive and negative experiences. Unlike our sister campus in Statesboro, the Armstrong campus has a small community feel to it. It takes a maximum of eight to ten minutes to walk from one end of the campus to another. Even if you do have to take a longer walk to your class, you will be surrounded by the beauty of the botanical gardens that this campus has throughout. Food on this campus includes Chick-Fil-A and Starbucks which is a win in my eyes. There are a few other non-commercial places to eat as well on the campus. Since we are a smaller school, academics are arguably better because you have access to smaller classrooms where the professors are able to reach every student. Freshman: I love the small school atmosphere of GGC. I have the opportunity to connect with my professors in ways that some other colleges don’t. For instance, my professors know my handwriting! The small town atmosphere created here at GGC is helpful when learning. I can easily access my teachers knowledge on and off the clock. I also the appreciate the look of the campus. Aside from building A, the campus looks modern and welcoming. I wish that the parking situation would be improved and i believe other students think so as well. The gravel lots are inconvenient. If they could be replaced with asphalt that would be nice. A new parking lot near buildings W, C, and B would be nice for students who aren’t staying in the dorms. Freshman: I like the small community that Agnes has and how it feels like a big sorority that you’ll always be a part of. It’s a small school but on most days it doesn’t feel like it all, you’ll definitely know of everyone whose in graduating class but you’ll still be able to say you don’t actually know them just like people don’t at bigger schools. However, I don’t like how the school is not a STEAM school but a STEM school and if you are an art major of any sort you’ll definitely feel the importance of that exclusion. Other non STEM majors are hard to study here as well but they have more opportunities and and resources to help them succeed. Agnes does partner with GSU, SCAD, Emory and Tech so getting a proper education in other majors is possible but the dual programs don’t really start until junior year so you will be behind others in your intended field, with the same graduation date, depending on your major.
