Freshman: I love Western Kentucky University. WKU is a perfect size for a student who does not prefer a large party school but still wants to socialize! They have an incredible Greek life and they have amazing classes as well! I enjoy my classes here, and I am also apart of the Honors College here on campus as well. Junior: Virginia Tech is a wonderful academic institution. Where most schools excel in either academics or the college experience, VT is strong in both areas. The surrounding area is also very involved with Virginia Tech. While I have been at multiple colleges, I have returned to VT to finish my bachelor's and complete my master's degree! Sophomore: As a current student of UNL, I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I am currently studying English and I have yet to have issues with any of the professors of this department. This college has a nice campus that is big enough to be spacious but small enough to know where everything is. There are so many amazing clubs and student organizations to be a part of on campus. Lincoln is a small city, but the Haymarket District is full of fun and is only about a 10 minute walk from campus! Freshman: My first year at Rutgers was something I’ll never forget. I made a ton of friends, learned the ways of film, and got my first job. The university has taught me things that I wouldn’t have known otherwise. I like the diversity and the different campuses, what they have to offer and what major it’s best for. Freshman: All Categories Rating 5 out of 5 Kennesaw State University is constantly growing especially in the art department. They have recently added a second building for specifically visual arts students since the old building could not handle the amount of classes needed to accommodate the students. There are many amazing and interesting courses that go beyond drawing the same still life over and over. The professor heavily encourage creativity and originality. Besides the art department, there are many accommodations made for students of various backgrounds. There are support groups, clubs, associations and fraternities/sororities to choose from. They have transportation all around campus as well as close shopping areas and certain off-campus destinations. Did I mention the cafeteria here is rated #15 in the nation? Sophomore: Providence college is a great place to be! After transferring in this past fall I have enjoyed many aspects of the College. The atmosphere is welcoming and everyone really cares. On thing to note is our sayings "Friars hold doors" or "Friars give back" which really just shows the care people have for each other at the school. As for professors, they have been great thus far. They are willing to help when you need it, and overall truly care with how everyone does in their classes. They have made themselves easily available for the extra help that I have needed. Providence College's campus is beautiful. What is great about it is not only that it is clean and kept nice, but you can also walk to everywhere you need to get to easily. Sophomore: Stillwater has a beautiful campus and a family like feel. Dorms are adequate but I think there needs to be better training for the CMs. The one I dealt with was nice enough but didn't seem to have to knowledge to deal with much of anything. There is also a lot of off campus housing that still seems like you are on campus, which is an excellent option for students with pets! There are a lot of activities and clubs to join, ranging from sports, to music and entertainment. Something that would be beneficial would be to have better access to tutors that have specified areas of expertise. Also on campus work is available for about any type of work you can think of. The professors are mostly helpful, although there are a few that are not very accessible to students for help with class work. Would like to see better on campus food options. Alum: I graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience. I primarily chose to attend Vandy for its academic prowess, and it definitely lived up to that reputation. In retrospect, I loved the majority of my STEM classes, and I find that my education was well-rounded because of my required liberal arts classes. The campus is beautiful, the food is relatively good, and on-campus housing is average. Admittedly, I was excited to live off-campus for my last two years (but beware - living in Nashville is not cheap). Socially, I had a great time at Vandy, especially thanks to the liveliness of Nashville, but sadly not due to Vanderbilt sports - this is not their strong suit. I met lifelong friends at this school! Realistically, however, many students do come from wealthy backgrounds, which can be off-putting at times. Alum: I went the large D1 state college route right out of high school, and with the large lecture hall style classes, it was hard to find time to talk with professors. At UCM, professors are really dedicated to your success, going far beyond anything I had experienced at the state college level. With some of the more difficult classes that I had, I was able to meet with professors outside of class on a fairly regular basis and connect on more of a personal level, something I thought would be lost after high school graduation. This was incredibly essential to my success. The campus size was also a great benefit. While I was a little hesitant attending a college that had a campus smaller than the family hog lot, I grew to love this aspect.
