Sophomore: I have loved attending Cedarville University. I have learned so much in my time there. It is a small enough campus that you see people you know all the time, but there’s always someone new to meet! The professors are intentional about building relationships and helping you succeed by pushing students to their full potential. I developed deeper friendships than I expected, even in my first year. Discipleship is so important to Cedarville University. Something I would like to see change would be the communication between students and management. I think much improvement can be made in the communication between the students and the faculty and staff. I believe that open communication will allow students to see the reasons behind the decisions being made and those decision-makers would be able to see how those decisions affect the students. Freshman: I am currently a freshman at Ohio Northern University majoring in exercise physiology. First time coming to campus was a great experience, I immediately felt at home and loved the people! There is a lot of green space on campus and everything is within a 15 minute walk. Athletic facilities are good, two weight rooms and a cardio room for students to use. Academics are great, professors really care about your success and offer help outside the classroom. Many students play sports on campus, the team environment and coaching staff is wonderful. Freshman: After my first year at Otterbein, I learned so much and have met so many new people. I love how Otterbein is a smaller school, and you are able to get extra help from the professors. You can tell they really do care about you and want to see you achieve your goals, especially if you have a fairly difficult major like biochemistry. The only thing I would possibly like to see change is more cultural appreciation as in different activities or events hosted at the campus. Sophomore: My experience with Mount Union has been amazing. As a current student, I love it here! The faculty and staff are very helpful, the academics are great, and student life is amazing. Living on campus and meeting new people with similar interests has made my experience more memorable. Athletics are huge in Mount Union culture. Athletes are very competitive and Mount Union athletic programs receive national recognition, especially the football program. Greek life is also something special at Mount Union. Alum: I wouldn't trade my experience with Muskingum for anything. The community is like family. It is very easy to make connections with professors and peers due to small class sizes. Despite being a small school, there is always something going on and there are so many things to get involved with. Freshman: So far, only being here for one year I have had an amazing experience. I have met some of my best friends here, and I've met great people who care about the evolving community and school atmosphere. The teachers that I have encountered are really good at what they do, and their love for what they do is clearly visible through the work they put into preparing their students for their futures. Junior: Findlay's campus gives you that home-away-from-home feeling. The campus isn't huge, which is something I personally love. You will always find someone or a friend group to fit into, as the campus is just the right size to hang out and get to know more people in our classes or just around campus. Class sizes are relatively small, which is another thing I love. This allows you to have more one-on-one time with a professor if you absolutely need it. Most of the professors I have had a UF are fantastic and understanding about life as a college student. The only thing I wish UF had more of is cultural diversity and more dining options! Senior: Malone is a faithfully Christian university with huge strength in the community and faith. It offers courses that will highlight the Christian experiences in many different ways from digging deep into the theology of your faith to expanding your religious horizon. Malone also excels in other areas like its student and faculty body. Though the music department has lost a lot of its students and majors, it is one of the most inspiring and talented sections of Malone. Its choir never disappoints, the band is amazing, and the individual talented artists are mind-blowing. Malone also has an extensive wildlife biology program with its very own petting zoo and aquarium. The animals are taken care of by students and those students are hand-selected by their professors. Senior: Mount Vernon Nazarene University is a great school for a variety of majors. The education program is definitely well-rounded and I feel prepared for the education field upon graduation. The advisors are available by phone and email, rather quickly, and if they aren't available right away, they're able to get back to you within a day, usually, which has been incredibly helpful in trying to figure out academics, scheduling, necessary graduation requirements, and financial aid. The online undergrad program is the best choice for working adults and students that have their own families, because almost everything is online and you don't get more than 2 classes at a time most semesters, so you can really focus on specific courses as you go. The only improvement I would suggest would be to have more involvement of adult program students with traditional undergrad program events and special services (so that the adult students actually feel like they are part of the university's program).... Junior: Ashland University is a small school, but it's a really great school. There are plenty of food options, and the dorms are pretty well kept (I recommend Myers hall!) The professors actually care for you and want you to succeed, and since it's a small school, they actually know who you are and form a connection with you. Not to mention it's a beautiful campus, more then once I've had to stop and admire the view. As a private school, they do require 1 religion core, and the only change I would like to see is that there were more class options to fill this requirement. Senior: I like the curriculum and the online experience is easy to navigate and understand. I joined their adult program, then around a year or so later I was forced to either do online or become a traditional student because they said my cohort got too small. While I do fine online, and even going to class once a week, a lot of it is still on line, I prefer going to class once a week instead of doing the discussions online, so I kept hoping more students would join in the field in that program, but I'm almost finished with my bachelor's, so it doesn't look like it is going to happen. On another note, one time they sent me the wrong schedule. They scheduled me for a degree I wasn't taking, but I noticed in time and they made the appropriate changes. Another time they sent me someone else's transcript and our names were not similar, so I'm not sure what happened there. The professors have been great! Senior: Wilmington College is a small private school, allowing students to have personal connections with the staff and students that are around the campus. Students have a more opportunities to be involved in groups and not feel overwhelmed by a bunch of people being in one area at once. Wilmington College does a fine job at keeping the students all on the same page as to new events happening around campus and great new ways to be involved. Some changes I would like to see happen is that for many of the sciences there are not many opportunities when it comes to experiencing the science fields outside of the college campus. Sophomore: GBSC is a great college for people who prioritize spiritual growth. The college is centered around Christ and community. Its chapel services and religious education classes are very enriching and worthwhile. It also offers HLC-accredited general education classes, so there are many people (myself included) who come to get their general education credits and soak in the incredible atmosphere before moving on to other academic pursuits. A few of the gen ed classes have not felt worthwhile, but my experiences in classes within the Music and Ministerial divisions in particular have been terrific.
