Junior: I have been enjoying my time at Taylor University. The professors are fantastic! They are fun, personable, knowledgeable, kind, caring and very helpful. The community is also very fun, as the students enjoy creating their own fun and we have quite a few traditions in each hall. A suggestion for improvement would be better communication between the administration and the students. Freshman: The University of Evansville has fantastic faculty members committed to ensuring your success at UE and after. Each person I have talked to is willing to help find important information, has made sure I am excited for the transition from high school to college, and any questions I have are answered or directed to someone capable of answering. The only thing I would like to see change is the tuition rate. UE is a private school, which is an advantage to me personally. However, it also makes it extremely difficult to cover costs without completing school with a significant amount of debt. Junior: Valparaiso University is a small school in Valparaiso, Indiana who's boasts are its rich history with the Lutheran church, its nationally ranked college of engineering, college of nursing, and meteorology program. When it comes to academics, Valpo has tried its best to support me in both my successes and struggles. While the structural portion of the civil engineering courses seems to be subpar currently, all other classes have been advantageous for my degree. The College of engineering has helpful professors and helping hands offered by other students because of its small size. Socially, Valpo may be a little more difficult to navigate because there is a low student population. But, Valpo does try to offer everything it can to suit your wants and needs. As a christian, I was struggling to find a group. But I found the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and a worship service called Celebrate! in which I now participate weekly in both. Freshman: I love that Huntington is a small school where you really get to know those around you. I love that the small class sizes really allow professors to get to know the students. The campus is beautiful year round and being small takes only about 10 minutes to walk from one end to the other. Only down side of campus is the fog due to lake snow-tip. I always feel safe walking on campus even at night and living in a dorm near campus police makes the feeling much safer. I have enjoyed my past year on campus and attending my classes and speaking to advisors that truly feel like they are there to help out. The nursing professor are always available to have a conversation about theology, life, grades, and just issues going on. There has been a number of professors who are highly understanding if something comes up and you are unable to attend class and need to make up assignments, quizzes, or exams. Alum: I really loved my time at Goshen! It has a very small college feel, and so you get to know or recognize most people around campus. Also, class sizes are small so you really get to know and interact with your professors on a personal level. Beyond that Goshen has many great opportunities for students. There is their SST study abroad program, Sustainability Leadership Semester, tons of unique May Term class, Agricultural Summer Intensive, and Marine Biology Semester. These are experiences that you won’t find at most other universities. Lastly, Goshen itself is a cute little town with lots of really good food options, including Goshen Brewing Company. Alum: Great experience academically and extracurricularly! I was able to take a plethora of knowledge gained at this institution with me into the workforce as a nurse. Now, I am pursuing a graduate degree and owe a great deal of thanks to Bethel for how well the prepared me professionally. Every teacher at this institution is very personable and allowed for a safe learning environment which promoted the freedom to make mistakes, learn from them, and better ourselves. I am a part time student as I am continuing my Mechanical Engineering Degree while working a full time job. I came back to finish my degree because it is important to me! While at Grace College I’ve met the best friends and professors there! I was a bit of a loner during high school but at Grace I was able to do some many activities and receiver opportunities that it was hard not to make friends! The professors are really nice as well, they will take time outside the typical 9-5 job to help you understand the problem or lesson you are struggling with! This place also made me closer to my faith when I was questioning it mostly during high school. To listen to how other interpret the Bible and what God is thinking while listening to other peoples stories was inspiring! Freshman: Franklin has a beautiful small campus. I love to see the wild life running between the trees on Dame Mall every day. the buildings are not too far apart allowing for short walk times between classes, and lowering the risk of being late to class. I like the small school atmosphere allowing for a more personal relationship with professors and a more hands on approach to learning. The only thing I would like to see change is the dorms. Graduate Student: Great online classes for RN>BSN, quick terms and manageable coursework. Professors are quick to respond and and give constructive feedback when assistance is needed for assignments. Calendar week is Tuesday thru Monday which allows for more week time or weekend schedule adjustment when planning your course work for the week. Most nursing courses are 6-8 weeks which help you to feel less overwhelmed with the content. Also since the course lengths are shorter, classes all run individually and you are only taking one at a time. There is no long waiting periods between between courses that will prolong your degree completion, one course will end on a Monday and your next course will begin on Tuesday. As a mom of three that also works full time Indiana Wesleyan course work has been a very manageable. And the counseling/enrollment team has been wonderful with all their assistance putting an appropriate degree schedule for me as well as accepting all of my community college transfer credits.... Graduate Student: Super easy to navigate online and the instructors have been very helpful up to this point. I absolutely love my program, which is the MA Psychology program. IWU in general is an all around amazing school. I received my bachelor's from here and loved it so much that I came back for my masters. I can't say enough positive things about this school and the many ways it has blessed my life. The online programs are perfect for busy working adults due to their flexibility. The possibilities and resources here are endless. You don't need to live near the main campus or a satellite campus to be successful here either. Everything you need is right online, including our off campus online library. They will also ship your textbooks to you, so you don't have to do anything but focus on your work.
