Freshman: From the moment I first stepped on the college grounds, I felt welcomed and at home. I I knew I had picked the right College. As I walked around the campus with the tour guide, I truly could picture myself being a student here at Saint Anselm. What I loved most was the myriad of places where I could relax, study and socialize outside of my dorm. Also, it felt like I was in my home with all the awesome Christmas decorations! I can't imagine changing anything about this college except I wish it was closer to my hometown. However, if Saint Anselm was anywhere else, it would lose the authenticity of the Northeast.... Senior: Rivier University is great if you want small class sizes and a small campus environment and community. All of my classes have been less than 30 students, and most were 15 or less. As a part of the biotechnology program, I have reaped the benefits of a brand-new science building and lab spaces. There is also a brand-new business and nursing building opening in fall 2022 as well as new dorms being added to campus. If you want a school with small class sizes where you know everyone who lives in your hallway and seeing friendly faces every time you walk to class, Riv is for you! The only downside about Riv is the quality of the food in the dining hall. The dorms are nice and clean, the campus is small and safe, and there are many sports teams and majors!... Read 484 reviews

Junior: Academically, the college lacks consistency. Certain programs, such as general education requirements, lack substantial teaching and learning. However, other areas of academics, for example, Biology, are vast and difficult. This disconnect in academics negatively effects my peers and I’s ability to preform consistently academically as-well. The smaller size of campus and student body aids to facilitate a familial and belonging feeling. Despite the low number of students, social events are happening frequently to foster community. I have learned factually, socially, and internally with my time at UVA-Wise, so overall the experience has been beneficial. Issues with the school would include a lack of diversity, small local community outside the campus, and fluctuations in academics. Alum: Magdalen College...how can I put into words the level of community, academics, and respect of human dignity that resides in such a school. Never before, and quite possibly never again outside of the family life, have I encountered such a profound and vigorous search of the good, the true, and the beautiful. Attending Magdalen College was a decision that I never once doubted, and will always be so glad that I made. The professors there are incredibly devoted to passing their knowledge and wisdom to the students. It has been said that education is not the memorization of facts, but is the widening of the mind, and this is a statement that has been not spoken but acted throughout the many years that this institution has opened her doors to young men and women seeking to answer the perennial questions of life. Freshman: St. Joseph's is a great school to earn your ADN. The program is streamlined and they definitely set you up to succeed. One frustrating point is that they are not very good about accepting transfer credits. Look into this before you make your decision. I have a BA in English but my credits were not accepted and I had to take English 101 and 201, which amounts to over $1,600 in tuition. On the whole, this is a very affordable school. You will get a good return on investment, and if you are serious and dedicated you will do very well here. There are no clubs/sports/student life, but to be honest you will not have time for that anyway. Most students are second degree/career change, so everyone is at a different point in their lives and most people are trying to become nurses, rather than have a 'college experience.'... Most departments have between 2 and 6 faculty members, so students take multiple classes in their major wirh each professor for better and worse. Unfortunately most administrative attention and grants seem to go to sports (its a D3 school) and redoing the interior of the science building, rather than to humanities and arts.
