What I liked about San Diego Miramar (Community) College was primarily its beautiful small campus, available parking, and the positive attitude of students and most teachers as it was very close knit. A few of the professors were not the most inspirational and lacked teaching skills; however, the website Rate My Professor came in handy for this. There is not much of a "University" party scene; at all. And there are very few clubs or school/community events; it was hardly known that the school mascot was a jet. This is a great school to get your studies, and general education completed with little hassle and best chance at being debt free while doing so.
Review San Diego Miramar College
For the past two years I've spent at Miramar College, I've found it to be a nice academic experience. Many of the professors here are very supportive of their students, however it has it's share of unprofessional instructors. While a small campus, it has everything it needs for a community college. In recent times, however, I've found myself only going to school for studies. The student life aspects such as clubs and councils aren't as promoted or impactful as they seem to be at other colleges or universities.
The campus is beautiful and the staff is amazing. After returning to school after a 20 year hiatus - this was actually the second college with in the last two years - it was hands down the most effective. I could readily see counselors and had access to much needed resources. Many schools claim to offer such benefits, but in my experience Miramar actually came through and did so easily with no hassle and much appreciated willingness by most all staff. Can't recommend enough to anyone starting or returning to college.
