Richland has given me countless opportunities to get my life and academics back on track! The faculty and staff have always been there to make sure I have everything I need to succeed as a student, and a citizen.
Richland scares me sometimes. I sit in the main lobby and picture a school shooter busting through the front doors. Other than that it’s pretty average. I would say about half of my professors actually taught me something. Their clubs lure you in as something to do on the side. And then they are asking money from you even though you only see these people once a month. The ladies at the student success front desk are the absolute worst! They bring in these bad attitudes or they ignore you. They will tell you that your advisor is too busy and will try to sign you up for your own classes. The best thing about Richland is the nice lady in financial aid. However, she told me this year I wasn’t receiving any aid.
Currently a freshman undergraduate who is continuing her education after being out of school for 10 years. A lot has changed in ten years especially
technology and school. I am not the most tech savvy person but Richland has made the process of returning to school very smooth transition. A school coach was assigned to me as soon as I was accepted at the school. She was very friendly and patient, and answered all of my questions very thoroughly. If ever I have any questions it is very easy to get into contact with her, and when not available, still gets back very quickly. I've had to contact various departments at the school just for general questions and each time everyone has been very friendly, helpful, and timely with their responses. The professors I have had so far have also been very friendly and helpful. They do their best to help everyone achieve the best learning that they can. They make each lesson engaging and challenging.
