Reedley College Reviews
Review Reedley College
Reedley College has a laid back atmosphere with supportive and helpful faculty. The professors are passionate about their subjects and love to see their students succeed; my English professor even got me a job on campus! The school offers plenty of helpful resources, workshops, and tutoring, which are all free. I will recommend Reedley College to anyone looking for a quality community college.
First off, I had taken classes at other schools and had my transcripts sent to the Admin and Records department 2 months BEFORE I started with them. Because the didn't get around to evaluating them I had to retake SEVERAL classes in order to advance through pre-req classes. It ended up taking them OVER a year to get around to it, and by that time my 90 unit time frame was being reached so I had to appeal to receive financial aid. Then after the appeal they realized they over paid me so I had to pay them back $1600, isn't that their job to verify aid I should receive???? Also they discovered that I didn't need to take several classes that I took in order to advance, so they kept my aid for those classes too! If they would have evaluated my transcripts I would be graduated already and wouldn't have had to repeat almost 15 units! What a waste of my time!
My overall experience at Reedly's Madera Center has been amazing so far. The professors and staff have made it easy to transition from a High school student to a full time College student. An experience that I will never forget is being apart of the very first Summer Bridge Program, this program is for incoming first year students looking to complete their prerequisites for English and take a counseling class that discus's college life. This program helped me overcome my fear of being at a new school and being a college students. These fears had almost stopped me from attending college. The professors, counselors, TA's and the dean involved in the program were very helpful and friendly they helped make sure that every student like myself was successful in their studies. Not only did the staff help but they also supplied us with a meal card, free books, and a backpack filled with things such as a USB, pencils, pens and a binder, all of these attributes helped me reach and achieve my goals of passing all three classes 125, 126 and counseling with all A's. The reason my school is unique to me is mainly cause of how supportive the staff is and how they want each and every one of their students to success in their classes. I'd choose my school again because of how comfortable and safe the environment t is made by staff and students.
