Rasmussen College - Eagan Reviews
Review Rasmussen College - Eagan
I am in a direct program so there are 12 mandatory classes overall and 4 general classes for all students, I have 2 programmed bases classes one is my human service concept class. This class is very insightful and helps the students figure out what specific career in the broad field of Human Services. The difficulty in the classes seems moderate but as the program goes on I expect it to be more challenging. All of the professors send out personalized email review on the weekly paper aassignmentsdue each week as well as other emails pertaining to updates and reminders as the class continued through the quarter. I like the fact that my program is 4 quarters a year including a the summer, 11 week quarters with a two week break inbetween. The program allows flexibility with the online base, living in Minnesota it is nice to do school from home! My in class campus has four of us at my Eagan campus, but 10 total during the lectures, I like that it is small because it easy to communicate and the teacher can get to know us a little better. I do not think it would hurt to have even 10 more students for more interaction and opinions but mostly everybody contributes to group discussions.
Rasmussen offers a very technologically advanced virtual online experience for the students, very efficent, timely and easy to work through. They have all of their library resources as well as live tutors, librarians ( between certain times) and over 200+ user friendly databases. The inteactions for the general online courses are poor to almost non existent, there are not real connections or friendships made. Everyclass has the same general work load with a 'discussion board' where all students answer a question specifically from that weeks general topic or reading(s). Followed by a reply post, 3-7 activites, a live lecture either at the campus or online as well as 1-2 paper assignmenrs, essays and rarely worksheets. All classes as well have 1-2 research based essays worked on over a set period of weeks for the class. I enjoy the live tutors they offer on the library home page that can reply with immediate and honest feedback.
I am only in my second quarter at Rasmussen college and am still adjusting to the online based program. I am dedicated to a two year direct program for my associates degree in Human Services, with an internship based learning environment for my second year attending the school. Basically logging hours to gain experience in my field, more time spent hands on is better knowledge and training for future careers working specifically with families and children. I am a full time student with online classes and one campus connect class where 5 classrooms are longed in at djffernet campus locations for very live lecture setting. I love the interaction it offers and the technology they have is very innovative and and stimulating to take part in.The staff overall have been very helpful from advisors that helped me with the application process to finances and as well as the professors who are hands on and efficient when it comes to grading and constructive criticism. I look forward to completing the program to have gained experience to do the work I love and that will help my community.
