    Clemson University

    • Clemson, SC
    • 2,817 reviews
Junior:Clemson University far surpassed my expectations of college. As a freshman, I immediately was surrounded by other students who became life long friends, teachers who were willing to help and support me in my learning, and athletics that brought the whole Clemson community together to cheer for the Tigers! It is challenging to NOT become involved through all the on-campus and off-campus organizations. It is true what they say about Clemson being the happiest school, everyone is so friendly and support each other through thick and thin. The surrounding lakes and mountains as well as the beautiful and historical buildings and monuments throughout Clemson makes its environment beautiful and peaceful. "There is something in these hills..."

    Furman University

    • Greenville, SC
    • 494 reviews
College Sophomore:I absolutely love Furman. It's truly a hidden gem. We seem to have it all - an absolutely beautiful campus, rigorous academics, helpful and caring faculty, awesome location, incredible resources, research opportunities, state of the art technology, good food, D1 athletics, amazing job/grad school placement rates postgrad... need I say more? Honestly could not have chosen a better school. For some, the only downside to Furman may be its size and its academic rigor. It's not an easy school by any means. But, if you're willing to put in the work, it will all be worth it and you will receive way more than you put in!

Sophomore:Wonderful university filled with plentiful opportunities and school spirit! It is a place that everyone and anyone can feel welcome and at home in a community that will always have someone that shares the same beliefs, morals, ideals, dreams, etc. This school has opened up a ton of doors for me and I already feel like I have I have a better understanding of how my future will be shaped after all the help and advice my teachers have given me. I have also met some of the sweetest, kindest, most genuine people I have ever met at this school and believe that it is a strong community that always takes pride in its accomplishments and is a perfect new home for those who are beginning their college careers.

    Wofford College

    • Spartanburg, SC
    • 328 reviews
College Freshman:One of the reasons I chose Wofford was the class sizes. Typically there are no more than 20 in a class, and sometimes much less! That is a big bonus for me. I also love the Interim term they have every January where they encourage you to step out of your box and take 4 credit hours that can be completely unrelated to your major.... just any off the wall, interesting, exciting, adventurous, artsy, crazy thing that strikes your fancy, to broaden your horizons or just fulfill some deep rooted fantasy or try something you never thought possible..... through school.

    Bob Jones University

    • Greenville, SC
    • 941 reviews
Junior:Overall, Bob Jones University is a great school! I have absolutely enjoyed my time here as a student. I am very excited about some of the recent changes and campus renovations that have gone on since I came as a freshman. The current president has a great vision for the university, and the student body as a whole has a very christ-like and family oriented atmosphere. The campus is gated and very safe, and the grounds are kept in pristine condition. It is really a lovely campus. The quality of education is second to none, and the professors genuinely care about the success of each and every student they teach. 5 out of 5 stars. I hope you will consider coming to BJU!

    Presbyterian College

    • Clinton, SC
    • 218 reviews
College Freshman:All of my courses so far have been excellent. The academic rigor is difficult but nothing unbearable as long as the student is ready to put in a long of hard work and studying. Most of my professors have been very flexible and knowledgeable. Some just do not teach the way I like to learn, which therefore it was up to me to study harder to learn the material, but that is no wrong doing of the professor. There is a great variety of courses offered but as an underclassmen it can sometimes be difficult getting into the necessary classes because the class sizes are so small and fill up quickly during registration. But with the class sizes being very small gives the advantage of a lot of one on one time with all the professors and an easier time for discussion in class.

    College of Charleston

    • Charleston, SC
    • 1,910 reviews
Alum:College of Charleston is small school with a very diverse group of students from all over the United States. Most of my classes were stimulating and rigorous. My professors were engaged and the majority of them were willing to meet with you and discuss questions / topics that were important to me. The campus is a beautiful, historic campus with old oaks dripping with moss. College of Charleston is in downtown Charleston, SC. The city is a tourist oriented city and there are restaurants everywhere and fun events going on constantly. I loved this school and recommend this school to all. You'll get a great balance of academics, new friends from all over the U.S., teachers who care, and an overall great education. I honestly cannot think of any great change to recommend. Certainly, there are a few teachers who are not stellar, but I the majority of the staff is fantastic!

Junior:I chose to attend The Citadel to be challenged academically, physically and mentally. The challenges I have faced have brought me to reach my fullest potential and rise up to challenges. I am more focused, have greater self confidence and have formed a patronage with an elite brotherhood that I would not have had the opportunity to do so at a more traditional college. I am working toward an army contract and hope to achieve this goal by then end of my junior year. If someone is not certain if the military may be the right choice for them, The Citadel will give them a glimpse at what that avenue may offer. I highly recommend The Citadel to anyone looking to take the road less traveled.

Going to Winthrop is like riding a rollercoaster and I love it very much!

Freshman:I absolutely love it here! All of the professors really care about their students, and their success. I love being able to attend chapel every Monday and Wednesday mornings. The food in the cafeteria is alright, but they also have a general store, Papa John's, and an Einsteins Bagels on campus so there are a lot of options. The scenery here is beautiful! I love being able to watch the sun set behind the mountains every night. It is a beautiful little campus that is nice and peaceful, and you get to meet a lot of new and wonderful people.

    Coastal Carolina University

    • Conway, SC
    • 1,655 reviews
College Senior:After having met with a few of the professors, and socialized or studied with the students, I have come to love the University more so than I could have imagined! Unlike other campuses I have visited, Coastal seems to be more comfortable not only as a home, but as a learning environment. The professors are always available for questions, and assistance needed in the subject the are teaching. The dean of student affairs is a pretty great guy too, he helps with a lot around campus. It's an amazing and truly a unique campus!

College Sophomore:The setting of the school is wonderful. The campus is beautiful and the students are very open and nice. I was a transfer student here and it has been a nice transition from one small school to another. I love the professors and overall the school is wonderful. Even though all of these things are positive, I have had quite a few problems with advisers and found them to be very rude and unhelpful! One even told me that it wasn't possible for me to get into graduate school, but I am a sophomore and have plenty of time to get my GPA up to apply to grad school.

    Coker College

    • Hartsville, SC
    • 253 reviews
Freshman:As a freshman pursuing a BFA at Coker College, something I enjoyed the most was how friendly everyone was. There was a sense of unity and excitement that I think is crucial to embracing the college experience. In just a short amount of time I have already excelled in academics and have taken several learning opportunities in and outside of the classroom. Coker is a great place to challenge yourself to fully explore your passions and expand your knowledge!

Freshman:I love CSU! The campus is so peaceful and beautiful, just the right size, and the perfect focus: Christ. There are many opportunities to serve Christ, further my knowledge of the Bible, learn leadership skills, and CSU has quality academic instruction with much rigor. On top of that, the student body includes many different cultures, and the people are just lovely.

    Columbia College - South Carolina

    • Columbia, SC
    • 442 reviews
Freshman:I like it here! The professors are pretty cool. There are students, upperclassmen, that are definitely happy to help you understand. There are a lot of international students, so there's a lot of diversity on campus. The academic scene was good until the school needed to be upgraded, which means there won't be any Spanish or French majors. I'm kinda hoping they don't take music for my friend's sake. The area the college is in is a little sketchy, a bit of an understatement. There were at least 3 emails about guys running from police or something, but the Columbia College Police Department keeps us safe. As for the party scene, you're gonna have to go to University of South Carolina or Five Points. Bring a friend if you're going to Five Points, though. It's not notorious for danger; it's just safer that way, and it was recommended by the people who actually live here. Overall, I'm looking forward to what the next 2.5 years will bring here.

University of South Carolina - Upstate

    • Spartanburg, SC
    • 810 reviews
Freshman:I am currently a freshman at the University of South Carolina Upstate. From the professors, to the beautiful scenery Upstate is a wonderful campus all around. There is always something to get involved in. There are two great dorms to be able to pick from. Luckily, I get to live with two of my bestfriends. We are looking forward to moving into the newest campus apartments right across from campus next year! The food is always excellent. There are three restaurants on campus to choose from. Sub connection, Holy Habanaros, and Sandellas. (Subs, Mexican, and pizza/sandwiches.) The campus is all around beautiful. There are multiple areas to go sit and have lunch outside or play in one of the fields. There is also a "hammock park," where you can set your hammocks or enos up on a sunny day.

With caring professors and a family like atmosphere, Claflin has made me feel like more than just a number. The wait to get back on campus throughout this summer has been agonizing and I am just ready for August to come so I can move back in and see everybody!

Freshman:Erskine is a very small, Christian school. It's a close community and with the nicest people you'll ever meet. Being in the middle of due west sometimes it gets a little lonely and quiet but sometimes it's a good thing. You get your peace and quiet with no distractions. The classroom environment is for the students to be able to have a close relationship with their professors and to have an opportunity for a one on one learning experience.

    • Florence, SC
    • 777 reviews
Alum:I attended Francis Marion for 3 years. The professors are amazing. Each one does everything they can to help you in your academic journey to your degree, and even onward into your career. As long as the student has the desire, these teachers are determined to help you find the way. The campus is beautiful, if a little confusing in some of the buildings' layouts, but most of the courses are centralized in one or more buildings for each major. I recommend this school to anyone & everyone looking to get a well-rounded & pleasant college experience while achieving their academic goals.
