Purdue is well known for their math and science curriculum and the material is rigorous. However, it is worth it because all of the faculty and staff care about you and your success. For such a large university, you would think it would be hard to find a helping hand, but not at Purdue. They provide the utmost amount of support and guidance, and it makes you feel like an important individual in a vast sea of more than 40,000 students. The layout of the campus was ingeniously designed, considering Purdue is an engineering powerhouse, this is a reassuring fact. Lastly, the diversity at Purdue makes it easy to build your network, which becomes wildly relevant post-graduation when searching for a start to your career. Overall, an outstanding university. When I first went to this school, it took my breath away. Never had I felt so enclosed in such a large university. The experience was jaw dropping. Attending my first tailgate for the university was when I found why students were so proud to call themselves a Boilermaker. The experience was something I wish I could say I witnessed when going to other schools, but it was only unique to this school. I returned to the school several times for other sporting events and kept finding myself drawn to the school. I only knew about the athletics so I decided to dive deeper into the school and look at the academics. They are ranked so highly in so many aspects of education.
I was surprised to find Purdue University was in the top 10 of best Engineering schools in the country. Despite the academics and athletics, the university stands out in being great for diversity, student groups and organizations, safety, and so much more!
I have thoroughly enjoyed my academic, athletic and cultural experiences at Purdue! Students and staff are very friendly and helpful. Being a student-athlete has provided me with the opportunity to create more structure in my day-to-day life as a college student, has allowed me to meet more people and travel. I am extremely proud to be a Boilermaker and encourage other college-bound students who want to work hard, to consider Purdue as their future home as well.
