I am very happy with my decision to come to Purdue! I came in as a student in Exploratory Studies, because I really didn't know what I wanted to major in or what career path I wanted to take. The Exploratory program helped me tremendously by encouraging me to interview people in various majors and careers that I was interested in as well as providing me with several personality tests. By the end of the semester, I was confident in my decision to pursue a degree in Animal Sciences with a concentration in pre-vet med. Aside from my experiences with Exploratoy Studies, Purdue has been a great place to meet people from all different races and cultures, it has challenged me in my academics but is full of resources to help me maintain good grades, and it has so many fun clubs to join to practice your hobbies or foster new ones. I would definitely recommend Purdue to anyone considering it!
Review Purdue University
I'm in my third year of engineering at Purdue and it's become my home. I've made friends that are family to me and have been through a rough past 2 years with me and stuck by my side. The academics are great, difficult, but if you really care about your education and put forth the effort it's easy. I know so many successful engineers and the stories that alums share are amazing. It's also super safe. I'm never scared walking around campus at night. I love this place, boiler up!
Purdue is a progressive school in many ways. They are always trying to improve the school, both physically and socially. In the past few years, there have been new additions to campus such as the Amazon pickup stations, the Alumni center in the Union, a new residence hall for the Honors college students, and the Active Learning Center. Socially, Purdue is always trying to improve the inclusivity of diversity on campus. Initiatives such as Free Zone, and various cultural centers and clubs around campus promote inclusivity. Academics are harder to review, as it is a different experience for every student. But regardless of major, students are challenged to think deeper instead of simply regurgitating information. Instructors vary in quality and effectiveness, but for the most part, I have had great instructors and professors. Learning (to me) seems more beneficial in a smaller classroom, where the students have more opportunities to ask questions.
