Walter Payton College Prep is a highly academic school. You must test to get in and most of the students appreciate that they are on average the 1% that got in. The classes are all honors or AP. They are challenging yet the teachers, 99% , engage the students in unique and exciting ways . Every other Wednesday there is a half day. On these half days, called seminar days, students have the opportunity to explore a wide range of interests for an entire semester. Such classes range everything from Ethics in America to Yoga for beginners. These 90 minute seminars allow the student to really engross themselves in a particular topic not necessarily part of the core classes. On regular school days the last hour of school is called enrichment. These enrichments , are classes that are also outside of your typical core classes. One signs up for a different one everyday. If you need help in Math, science or writing there are enrichments to help tutor you. There are also enrichments that delve into religion, culture and sports.
Since I am in high school there is no major but my drama program is great. I feel that the school helps foster a creative spirit at the school . This is the case regardless of what your interest is. Sports, choir, Drama , fine arts, math , debate, etc.

I feel that I am getting a well rounded education with particular extra experience in what I find interesting, Drama.
