i love it! its a place where i feel like im home away from my home.im also pleased that the upperclassmen treats its freshman well.to be honest i think any freshman sophomore junior senoir transfer or readmit should reconsider and make philander a top choice and selecting universities and colleges to go to for a particular major, may i suggest political science because the professors are immaculate about teaching. I love how welcoming kind hearted and welcoming my fellow colleagues are.I love the fact that no matter what edpidemic, pandemic,or any global infection, the goal never stops for prevail and its students to prevail and exceed to prosper and thrive in completing the goals and tasks needed to advance to the competitive life of society the world throws at them. Im intrigued with the fact that each and every individual including myself have a unique and globetrotting story of how and why we here.
I like the professors at Philander, my experience here has been phenomenal. I feel "at home" here and included. The professors care and are always available to help to keep you on track. However, if you do not reach out with your problems, questions, or concerns then the professors do not know what is going on with you. I do not live on campus but there seems to always be something going on that students can enjoy.
Academic wise Philander is a great HBCU for students to attend. Philander Smith just lacks in having a put together campus. It's just not a place I would want to stay to attend classes it's horrible when it comes to campus life. The food is terrible, the dorms are run down and need a LOT of work, etc.
