PSU-Erie is a wonderful school physically and community-wise. The school is just outside of the city and hidden by a plethora of trees and greenery. The plants and trees are well-maintained throughout the year. There is a lot of history at the school which can be seen in some of its paths and older buildings. The school is dedicated to student safety, mental health and success. It is always changing its buildings, activities and courses based off of what their students and families are suggesting. That in itself makes the school a 5/5 . My only issue with having gone to this school is that meal plans were very expensive and did not supply a proper amount of food for student sustenance. I am hoping this is something the school looks into and changes in the coming years. Be sure to tour your residents halls before accepting one! Some do not have A/C, and summers can get quite muggy in the area.
Penn State Behrend ensures that each student is gaining the education they deserve. One thing I love about Behrend is the student/professor relationships. Considering the campus is small, along with the classes, it's easy to engage with the professors. All faculty members are more than happy to help you prepare for an exam, answer questions on homework or even give students a better understanding of the material learned in class. Outside of the classroom, the student body is wonderful. All of the students come together to ensure everyone is able to enjoy their time at Behrend. Whether that be events or clubs, and even workshops for mental health and major-based events. There is always someone willing to help if a student is struggling, my personal favorite is the tutoring office. I spent a lot of my time there and gained a lot of useful information. There's not much I would change about Behrend, I've had nothing but a positive experience there!
Behrend is one of a kind, it is like a small community! I love Behrend because of the back up and support students get when they are in dire need of help or just some hope! Some of the staff and professors are just amazing and very helpful and good listening ears.
Behrend provides the feeling of safety with warm welcomes and they do this by making sure students participate in activities set up by the clubs and organizations. They have a welcome week where students are shown around campus their first day, they have activities to help students feel comfortable and open up and hopefully make friends. What else can I say, Behrend is just full of positivity and lots of energy.
