Paul Mitchell the School - Houston Reviews
I started at Remington so not to compare but coming to school here makes me feel like I was meant to be here and no where else. Everything is so structured and put in a way that I learn easily, my teacher is amazing and down to earth and so knowledgeable, I've seen the owners of the school almost everyday they interact with us and talk to us and make me feel like they really care about my success, to know all of the opportunities that this school offers gets me so excited! The fundraising programs here are awesome and there are so many different ones to complement everyone's interest! I would choose this school again in a heart beat, you never stop learning!
They don't just focus on one aspect of the beauty industry, we learn color, cutting, nails, makeup all things that will be in high demand for many, many years! We work on a paperless system which is fun and educational in new technology. They have a very high job placement rate and many extra programs and classes for additional education. Homework is called homeplay and is just that. There is an excellent Deans list and honor program as well.
My starting experience was really good they are very professional but also very emphatic to their students. But a shift in. Administration has changed half way through my enrollment and a lot has changed , you’re not allowed to have bottled water in the clinic floor, before it was ok if it was strictly water , and you have to drink it the back and sometime not even on the clock ... and they only give you a 30 min lunch for a ten hour school day that’s 8:30am -7 and even last that if you’re still with a client . Now there is a new rule where we can’t sit ... anywhere wether it’s the break room , or even if you’re not with a client . So if you like being treated like a child micro managed and stand ten hours a day . And spend a good amount after school paying that tuition ,this is the school for you . I understand they’re trying to train you for the salon world , but no one stands there without a client .... for seven hours .
