I would highly recommend Patrick Henry Community College to any student who is looking for an affordable community college. The college is diverse and inclusive. The campus is beautiful. The class size is relatively small which was a bonus for me. The staff and the instructors were extremely helpful and definitely promoted student success. I did have some instructors that were not the best, but most of them were fantastic and provided a good quality of education. I have had a very memorable experience here.
Something that I believe an interested student should be aware of is that PHCC does not provide as many programs as other colleges do. One should look carefully at what is available. Also, some programs are very difficult to get into as they are very small. Their Nursing program for example is very small.
Some things that I would like to see changed is perhaps expanding the medical/healthcare programs. Specifically, expanding the Nursing programs.

Overall, I’ve had a positive experience at Patrick & Henry. The campus is nice and the staff is extremely accommodating. The staff and disability support staff in the LRC are extraordinarily helpful and have overall made my college experience much more enjoyable. I recommend P&H for any students who are able to attend through the SEED program, are not able to take on the financial risks of a 4-year institution, are looking to transfer, or are unsure of what they want to do. P&H is definitely perfect for those who want to head straight to the workforce, as well. All around, although it isn’t the typical college experience, I would rate it as a ‘very good’ one.
The professors at Patrick Henry Community College truly care about how the students absorb the important aspects of the lectures. They always make time to provide additional help to student who do not understand the class materials. The campus has a neat and calm setting; I always feel safe on the campus. PHCC provides financial assistance for the students so they are able to afford their classes and not left with substantial debt. The community college provides opportunities for students to meet university representatives and gather knowledge on transferring. The advisors helped me in understanding the key factors I should know before tranferring. Overall, my time at PHCC has been satisfying and comfortable. I have learned more than what I expected at PHCC.
