I love the affordability, especially with the California Community College Grant! My professors have all been reasonable, if not excellent for the most part.
As an asynchronous/online student I have not had much opportunity to meet with my peers, and I feel like my professors have not done enough to get us to connect so we can help each other out.
The campus isn't exactly extravagent, but I can't say much since I've only taken one in-person class here.
Overall, my experience here has been positive and though I have had to figure things out myself in some cases, going here has saved me time and money.

Straight out of high school, Oxnard College was a fantastic institution to acclimate myself to college level classes. The small campus size coupled with the outstanding faculty made it feel like I was not lost in the crowd. The campus layout is great, and it is easy to get from class to class without spending too much time walking around. There is always parking available, and permits are cheap! The faculty is what made Oxnard College amazing for me, as each instructor made time for every student at office hours or after class. I highly recommend those that are looking for a cheap, yet also fantastic experience towards a degree to start at Oxnard College.
Having transitioned to distance education, Oxnard College professors have adapted to the needs of their students. With greater vigilance on individual performance, professors want to ensure that students feel comfortable reaching out to them for help. Currently, many students, like myself, are feeling more lost than ever--it's a nationwide educational crisis--which professors and school staff have attempted to mitigate through mentor programs and hosting events to hear student voices and concerns. I've seen professors and instructors be more involved during online course discussions. I think that's a great start. They also make themselves available through email, online office hours, and sometimes text and phone calls. Some professors have courses that have optional online sessions to allow students to have a more flexible schedule.
Oxnard College is not perfect but through student feedback and inclusiveness, I know they'll adapt even better.
