The classes are great and I love the 8-week schedule because it allows you to focus on less classes at a time. The school is mostly made up of athletes, which makes it difficult to fit in and make friends if you are not an athlete. Many students have complained about their roommates, but that could be an issue anywhere. Overall, I would say if you are an athlete, this school would be great for you. It is a Christian university, but as a non-Christian, I would say it is not a super religious place. The only thing is that there is an assembly every Wednesday that can be boring and uninteresting to a non-Christian.
Ottawa is a very small private University that has a high school feel. This school is for you if you are very intimate and like a small personal relationships. If you put yourself out there you will most likely know everyone at the school, staff included. The highlight of this school is the Athletics. Every sports team is highly skilled and are no strangers to winning.
You'd like to think that for a college that is so expensive that you'd get a decent education. But I haven't learned anything here that I didn't already learn in high school. I have a scholarship and loans and am still paying $700+ a month to go here. I am not even living on campus so paying this much is just ridiculous. Most teachers seem like they care for the students and the staff is great. But I really don't think I have learned anything worth paying so much money for. This is the perspective of a non-athlete. There is a huge importance placed on athletes to the point where it is hard to make friends or feel important to the school if you are not one. The cafe food is pretty bad, but the Spirit bucks are a cool idea though. But I may spend more actual money at the school Cafe for drinks and such if I wasn't putting so much toward the school in the first place. The only reason I am still here is because I am almost a senior and might as well finish my degree here.
