Insanely costly for a barely average quality education. The expectations are beyond attainable and your classmates will drop like flies throughout the program. For it already being so expensive, nothing is provided and you will spend about $1,000 extra on materials a semester that I have been provided through community college. The connections are promising, but the professors choose favorites and you need to pray that they will take you under their wing. Otherwise you will be left with heavy debt and no job. It is impossible to work to support yourself while going here. So while this institution prides itself on its diversity, they're ashamed to admit they're only accommodating to the wealthy privileged students that can spend over $50,000, have money for Los Angeles rent, food and everything else. This school is not minority friendly and most drop out due to how expensive it is and lack of school/life/work balance.
Otis is a great environment for creatives of all kinds! Unlike the other institutions I’ve been to, Otis really cares about staying true to your identity. That was a welcome surprise, and something I feel grateful for finding.
Otis College of Art and Design is a great school for those who are pursuing a career in the Arts. At the college, there are plenty of opportunities for networking with other students and industry professionals. The school also has amazing facilities, workshops, and labs with high-end equipment that will help you improve your skills and overall practice as an artist/designer. The campus is relatively small but has a lively feel with weekly/monthly activities open to all students.
