Otero College is a Junior college that focuses more on the one's studies than most colleges. The classroom sizes are very small and working with one's professors are very good about hands on learning. It is a great place to start one's college career. I know I have met a lot of lifelong friends that I will keep forever. The amount of activities that the school puts on are amazing. For example, We would have goat yoga near the library which was a lot of fun to just chill out and relax with all the little goats running around.
I love the community involvement that Otero has. Being a small junior college, and being located in a small town, there isn't a ton to do on your free time. The college and community come together for bonding, putting together events, and support. I love how it feels like a family, diversity is a big part of this college and so is teamwork. All sports and programs help each other and come together to accomplish a goal. A very safe and happy environment to be in.
The MLT program is fantastic, its practical information that you use in the work place with just enough focused on the board exam to make sure you pass on the 1st try. The teachers are fully invested in the successes of their students, and the hybrid program makes it accessible to many walks of life.
